Hell is a mythic construct made by the early church in order to frighten people into obedience. The heat is neither dry nor wet -- it is in people's minds.

Kind thoughts,

Ever been to the swamps of Louisiana when the heat index is 115?

If your planning a trip to hell please visit SE La. (south of New Orleans) to get just a small taste... People in SE la. breathe through their mouth because it's so ****in humid your nose is almost useless!

People in La. don't care about the temperature because they all know 100 degrees isn't bad but 80% humidity is sufficating!

I seem to be going to hell, and all the heat I generate is wet heat.

Especially near loud bass speakers.

The Greeks (and Romans) thought Hades (Pluto) was a very very cold place. Incidentally, the coldest planet in our galaxy...errr, it's no longer technically classified as a planet... but whatever it is now...Pluto is downright cold.

I think the point is that it's a place you don't ever want to go.

Better to conceive of Hell as the "absence of God."

No, if it's designed to induce suffering for eternity (for those suckers who sinned for an average of 78 years of life), then it would have to be humid heat.

Humid heat like you get in the deep south, for example.

Hell is not as hot as it used to be, I am told (from a reliable source ) for even the Devil can't afford stoking as much as he
was accustomed to with the current energy prices.
The thermostat rules down below, and solar panels are no option.
