I give him a little bowl of food everyday with seeds grains nuts and a bit of fruit every one and a while. But He never eats anything else but thhe fruit and sunflower seeds. I know this isnt good for him so I need help. Please : ]

my hamsters also love sunflower seeds, and they hate fruit. but they love carrots and green beans. try giving your hamster some vegetables like carrots, peas, squash,broccoli, cauliflower, etc. my hammies love all those things. if you have the time you could pick most of the sunflower seeds out of their food. or just buy them food without any sunflower seeds in it. like pellets. also, my hamstyers lvoe these blueberry yogurt treat things, they sell them at most stores by the regular hamster food, and they are healthy for your hamster too! good luck

My hamsters do the same thing, but they eat the seeds if they don't have any sunflower seeds. Sunflower seeds and fruit are favorite foods for hamsters. Try giving him a little less sunflower seeds in the bowl of food (pick them out) and he will get used to having less and eat more of the seeds. Sunflower seeds have a high fat content and are bad for the hamster's health in large amounts. Leave the food in for longer and he'll pick out what he wants.

well that is normal but when there are no more sunflower seeds in the bowl in the tank you have him in dont change the food until he starts to eat the other things or you can seperate the sunflower seeds from everthing else and only give him how much you want to or as a treat

Some hamsters are like that. Just buy some vitamins at your pet store to give him and he will be fine. Follow the directions on the bottle carefully....I accidently put too much vitamins in my hamsters water and he went crazy(he had way too much energy).
My hamster only likes sunflower seeds and corn lol.

my friends hamster used to be the same way but with corn =/ . i would sugest getting your hamster a diffrent treat and hopefuly get tired of sunflower seeds. i heard strawberrys and corn are some treats you can try. your hamster might not eat whats on his plate right away .BUT your hamster will learn that thats the only thing on him plate. maby give him sunflower seeds as a treat once in a while. hope this helps.

Don't stress. He knows what is good for him. They love sunflower seed and yes it is full of nutrition for him, also lots of natural oil.

I had a hamster that only like turkey bacon and those greens pellets. I couldn't get her to eat anything else so I brought her vitamins and she lived passed her years, I had allot of fun with her. I guess some hamsters are picky like humans.

just buy him food that has less sunflower seeds and more good food. he will eventually go for it

some hammies are picky. try giving him some fresh fruit and veggies. i have a female hammy and she is really picky. i've had others that would eat just about anything i gave them. he's just picky and you have to find out what he will eat.
