Bobbie is right. Proverb 31 speaks of many works that a wife is able to do such as being a merchant, land owner and so on. The only requirement is that the husband provides for his family in so far as he is able to. (1 Tim 5:8) This is especially important in a spiritual sense. Thus, a husband would make sure that his wife's spirituality is not suffering because he or she is working too hard and being pulled away from spiritual things. So balance is necessary.

Everyone loves bringing up the woman working in Prov 31, but in Timothy in the NEW TESTAMENT it says that a woman's satisfaction will be found for her in staying home and raising the children.

both couples I do not understand you mean husband and wife both of a couple. no it is not mentioned in the bible. but to be honest being a wife and mother is a full time Job unless there are children then I am sure women like a job but when you have children some one needs to be home with them.

Fine so long as it doesnt interfere with her first ministry which is to her husband. The Prov wife worked in the home and had sold things to visiting merchants (small biz).

Proverbs 31 shows a wife who works.
It doesn't totally translate to todays culture, but the idea is there.
As far as N.T. it is silent on the issue.

I really do not think God worries about such things.... He does expect us to deal with our daily lives, such as bills, food, etc........ YES, God does provide, but the ways inwhich He provides sometimes are NOT what we think they should be...... If you and wife/husband need or want to work, then work..... If you both have decent jobs, or not so decent, maybe that is the way inwhich God is providing for you..... Sitting around and moaning about unpaid bills is NOT what God wants....... Just my humble thoughts....... God bless

Proverbs 31 explains a Good wife.
It states she can work and lot more.

Ephesians is also good to read its about How Christians are Suppose to be.
