I just graduated from college and I'm now working full time. I just bought a car recently and learned that even though I've been paying stuff in my name, my credit is still limited. Whats the best credit card I could get to help? I want something with a good APR...it will only be used for emergencies! Also, are there any where they'll let you choose your limit?!

Well, if you want to build your credit, then you don't want to use your credit card only in emergencies.

Overall, the best strategy I know of is this:

1. Get a good rewards card for your normal spending (groceries, gas, restaurants, etc.)
2. Funnel most of your normal spending through your rewards credit card(s)
3. Pay off your monthly balance(s) in full every month

That way you'll:
1. Build your credit quickly by establishing a good usage and payment history
2. Avoid interest
3. Earn rewards

To easily find the rewards credit card that will pay you the most for your normal spending profile, you can use this rewards calculator:

I have had capital one since I was out of high school and they have always been the best for me. They always send you info on how to manage your credit so that you don't overspend. Especially if your new to credit cards. I think they gave me a 5,000 limit to start with and I think that was too high for me but things may be different now. They also offer cash advances, you can use your card like an ATM when you are in a jam for cash. I don't suggest going with I think it was citibank, but not too sure. I got it through washington mutual and it was my first credit card and they screwed me over badly. Check out capital one I think you might like that one.
