I met this guy recently that has custody of his 2 small kids ages 2 and 3. Anyway, we were planning to go to this event which I figured that his kids were coming along with us anyway. Anywho, he was telling me that he couldn't find a babysitter and didn't know what he was going to do. Well, I told him to bring them along and he asked me if I was ok with that. I have no problems because its a package deal and plus I really wanted to spend time with him anyway. I met his children before and they're so cute and I like them - well I like children anyway.

My question is - Was I being selfish for wanting his kids to come along with us just so I can spend time with him even though I don't have a problem with them comimg with us?

No that is not being selfish...being selfish could be if you didn't invite him to bring his kids along becuase you only wanted to spend time with him. It is a package deal and to spend time with him does mean spending time with his kids too. It definately shows him that you are okay with him having kids and that nothing would change between you two because of the kids. My boyfriend also has a small child - 21 months. I love spending time with them. He is always sure to ask me if I am okay with the situation which definately shows me that he cares how I feel about his situation. To be dating someone with child and not want to spend time with him and his children then you shouldn't be in the relationship. I hope you guys have fun at your event!

You did good. As you say: "It's a package deal".
