by this I mean that those who read the bible don't understand that halos are from the ancient symbol for the sun, Christ's blood is from ancient blood rituals, rising from the dead is also from ancient society or the fact that these ideas were incorporated into one religion to help control the masses under one religion because people still feared the unknown and did not want to oppose "god"?

There is much to be said and read concerning your statements. However, I will not write a book here. There is one comment that I hear a lot that I don't particularly understand-control the masses- Who was seeking to control the masses? It certainly wasn't the people in power, for they spent the next couple hundred years killing individuals who believed in this supposed control tactic. Even secular history will tell you this. So is the argument that people with no power sought to lie and then die for what they knew was a lie in order that hopefully one day hundreds of years later their lie would catch on and then they could control the masses. I don't see the evidence for the control the masses argument. It is just something that is said that is like a rallying cry with no real case for it. As far as the whole imitation argument goes, there is a distinct difference historically between Christ and the ancient myths and most historians are honest enough to admit it. Actually even various atheist historians (that didn't have a zealotous) agenda have admitted that there are fundamental differences however, your mind is already made up and opposed to critically thinking about your skepticism. You have an emotional will opposed to christianity so your mind will sift out and discard any info other than info that verifies your will-so I will not spend much time writing about a lengthy topic pretending that this is an intellectual matter when it isn't. The intellectual stuff is just a tool used to make our wills feel justified.

I didn't think that 'halo' was in the Bible. Could you help me find it? Christ's blood IS from ancient blood rituals. It was called 'atonement for sin' back then. And rising from the dead is also ancient. It happened occasionally about 2000 years ago. Maybe before that but I've not read about it. The problem with the whole 'control the masses' theory is that Christianity is not controling. It is completely by choice. If you want to follow, great. If you don't, I hate it for you but it IS your choice.
