You have already tried breaking up in a nice way, but they still attach onto you and make plans to do things with you. You however, never want to see or here from them again. How do you break up with someone who is needy and codependent without ruining them? Help!

You just have to be firm and consistent. They will always try to think of something to make you stay. It may take awhile, but eventually they will come to terms with it.

I sent him a text telling him to get out. I threatened to call the cops if he didn't. He finally left and I had all the locks changed. That's the only language he seemed to understand. It didn't stop him though--he stalked me and has been arrested several times for it. Be careful.

you will somehow have to convince them that they need to live without you. withdraw from their lives gradually and subtlely.
