One of my close friends [Cass], who I will not see in a long while, gave me a really cute/expensive pen as a goodbye gift.

My other friend[Dwight] got upset, because he doesnt like Cass, and when I was not looking he dipped the cover part of the pen into "white off or liquid paper".You know that white thing you use to erase mistakes made by a pen?

Anyways what he did only came to my attention a few minutes ago and the liquid paper is dry and wont come off.

I'm hurt not because the pen is expensive but because other than the memories I have of Cass this is the only tangible object I have.

I feel like yelling at Dwight but I am currently trying to control my anger as I had a problem with it a few days ago.Dwight is still over at my place and I am getting more upset everytime I look at him.

Will it be rude to ask him to leave?
Or should I sit him down and talk about it?

BTW-anyone know how I can get the liquid paper off? Water isnt working.

Thanks for your answers.

First, I think that the proper thing to do would be to tell Dwight that what he did was unacceptable. Then ask him to leave until he can properly respect you and your property.

He has no right to destroy your property. A friend would not do that. A jealous person is not the right person that should be kept as a friend.
It's okay to stick up for yourself! You don't need to be liked by someone who would disregard your feelings like that.

Non acrylic type nail polish remover should help (the kind that is used to remove polish from fake nails).

Tell this Dwight character that Cass does not mean to him what she means to you and that number one, messing with your property is wrong to begin with and NUMBER TWO, it's none of his damn business if Cass is your friend and that something given to you from her means the world to you.

If he doesn't like Cass, fine, but he has no right to belittle your friendship with her. If he doesn't like those terms, then I'd say there's a lot more room in your life for Cass than there is for Dwight.

Maybe he will learn a valuable lesson from this about how to value his friends.

Dwight's not your friend... you know that, right? He's a jerk who doesn't care about your feelings at all. He's free to dislike whomever he wants, but he should never get in the way of your relationship with Cass. Kick Dwight to the curb.

As it dries, you can try flaking it off. Depending on what the pen is made of you can try nail polish remover.

You need to talk to Dwight. I agree, you should calm down first. Ask him if he did it on purpose. Let's not condemn him until we know for certain.

If you ask him and he says he did it, ask why. Depending on his answer, you can ask him to leave or work with him on whatever his problem might be.

No one can take away your memories.

In my opinion, there is no need to ask him why he did that or to ask HIS permission for him to leave--it's your place! Anyone, no matter how dumb or dense, would have the decency to respect your possesions and the sanctity of your space.

Throw him out, even if he apologizes. If he's a bum who cannot fend for himself, go bring him to a shelter. OR, ask him to apologize not to you but to Cass, and make him repent for being such an obtrusive person.

I completely agree with Mabel...Dwight has no respect for you, I would ditch him altogether. Anyway, nail polish remover should fix up your pen.

Try rubbing alcohol.
I would confront him. He needs to apologize and realize how childish his behavior was. If he refuses to apologize kick him out and don't speak to him until he does. Friends don't jack with other friends property. That is messed UP!
