Wear something dressy and "bridal" but not a huge white dress with veil and train. Something sleek perhaps? Like a mermaid or any white gown/dress.

We are having an informal reception and will have assigned tables but not assigned steats. I know it sounds odd but there is no way we are giving our famlies free for all on the seating. They are prone to fighting so need to be carefully seperated :) If your guests all get along great then I wouldn't bother with it.

Don't worry about it and listen to Renee sweetie. Casual does not equal forgetable or unspecial by any means.

Just a nice long dress, not too fancy. That will be great. And if you are drinking then I would not do the table seating assignments. When you have a party like that, people don't care where you sit.

You still might want to have the head table though. Even if it is just for you and your husband.
Good luck and have fun!!!

Also a great site: thebridalshop.com. Click on informal wedding dresses. I saw gorgeous gowns and dresses under $300. I would suggest that you buy a gown or knee length, but it should be simple looking in design...not super fancy with those huge skirts and bustles. It is an informal affair, but it is still a celebration of your marriage and you want to look pretty and dressed up. No veil, and maybe a small wrist corsage. Your husband should have a suit, maybe in a charcoal gray or dark brown, white or ivory long sleeve shirt, coordinated tie and a boutineer. After a while he can take off the jacket.

What is your husband going to be wearing? If it's not going to be a formal event, you don't need to dress super fancy, just a nice outfit, slacks and a nice top, maybe a nice dress, have fun!

Get a nice white dress, so you still look kind of wedding-y. No, you do not have to assign tables.

Just think of this... when you see pictures of your wedding reception five years from now, what do you want to look like?

A regular casual get together or a memorable occasion???

That should help. Congratulations!

pick a nice dress it doesn't have to be fancy but not to casual just in one that you feel comfortable and that you like don't let anybody persuade you in buying a dress that you don't like .

Just get a nice formal dress, but nothing over the top.
