When I was learning to cook, Bon Appetit helped me immensely, but they've gotten more difficult over the years. I still like epicurious.com for most recipe searches. Go to the advanced search section. You put in a main ingredient and click on other items you have on hand or want to use.
But pick up a Betty Crocker or Better Homes & Gardens cookbook. They both have easy to hard recipes, photos of what it should and shouldn't look like, tips, tricks, nutritional info, and substitutions. They're both very informative.

Here's an easy one:
Slice up some zuccini or summer squash, put it in a microwavable dish, put in some salsa to cover it, microwave for a couple minutes. Stir after it is cooked, as the cooking brings water out of the squash. Cook more if it needs it, that depends on how much you put in. Easy, quick, tasty, and good for you.

Hey this was the first thing I made for my husband and he loved it and thought I had worked for hours on it(I never said a thing) In a casserole pan put one large can of beef stew. On top of that place one can of biscuits (you may have to flatten them a bit) then place in 325o oven for about 30 min. keep an eye on it though. By the way my kids and my husband still love this even after 30 yrs.

I get most of my best recipes from the internet at such sites as foodnetwork.com, epicurious.com, emerils.com and cooking.com
They all have search fields, so you can input a word (beef, pork, shrimp, etc.) and a ton of good recipes will pop up. They also have sort functions that helps. Good luck.
