Only if you want it to end, specifically, in defeat. If just want it to end, you're merely sane.

Every soldier who ever fought in any war since the beginning of time has wanted war to end so he could go home. What you see is not unpatriotic, it's just shows your a human being

No soldier likes war; but he will do his job. Basically to protect his fellow soldiers from harm. It does not make you unpatriotic to want it to end. Most soldiers that are veterans do not relate to other people that have not been in combat. The non combatants have no concept of what it was like. You get two vets together and they can talk about their experiences.

Depends on how you want it to end...if you want to win, then no...if you are like the Democrats and want to just leave...I would have to question your intent...because a Soldier never quits, never...every time I was deployed I always said every morning, "I can't wait to go home..." and sooner or later it came...hell dude...I went from being in Korea for a year...then coming home on my leave for 3 weeks...going to my unit and went to Haiti two weeks later for 6 months...that sucked...and then to Bosnia and Kosovo...it sucks...you just have to do your job a quit whining...if you joined that Army after 9/11 you have no complaint, because you knew what you were getting into...

Do you think a firefighter wants to run into a burning house?

Do you think a police officer wants to get called up for a homicide?

Its the same with soldiers. You do the job you are trained for. You do the things nobody wants to do, even yourself, because someone has to do it. Nobody wants war, but once its on, it has to be finished.

Not at all. America was founded on the right to disagree, so it is unpatriotic to say you disagreeing is unpatriotic.

Not unless you cease to follow your orders, or endanger your unit in any way.

Don't put any stock in the bogus survey Don C. is trying to push down your throat. That survey is nearly as biased as the ones the tobacco industry used in the 60's and 70's.

Patriotism took you there in the first place... common sense is what is bringing you home! War is always a last resort... just like fighting in high school. But there comes a time when you figure out what's worth fighting for.

According to your government yep. According to normal, Nope. That org wants brainless automatons who are there to live and die for the "cause" whatever flawed reason that might be for the moment.

If you want proof of the good heart of those for whom you would be serving, read the answers above from those kind Amerikans. WOW, now that is compassion and gratitude for the last round of fire you might have dodged! Now, is it worth your life for such attitudes?

Being human is human. It USED to be that those memories of home were what kept a man going through the tough times ~ the inspiration of mother, wife and family. HOME. NOW it means he is a whiner who should grow up?

A patriot is one who defends what is right and that is not always the government! A patriot vows allegiance to his country, not the dictators. Those who blindly follow wrong leaders are no more than lemmings.

I was in the army. I wanted to go home but stayed for my full tour in Germany under Reagan. If my president lied to send me to an unjust war, I would quit and go home, even risking prison or execution.
