accelerator pump in the carb is worn out,pick up a basic carb kit it will have the gaskets,needle valve/seat,pump and a diagram for installation. clean everything well and that will solve your problem.

The carb has an accelerator pump that typically goes bad over time / use. The power piston can also contribute. Typically the thing to do is rebuild the carb, which includes disassembling, soaking in a cleaning solution, clean all passages and installing a kit that has all the gaskets and accel pump. The power piston is extra and so is the float if one is needed.
To get by you can feather (lightly step on the gas pedal and let up quickly and press down again (like tapping to a fast song) and that should help minimize the hesitation until you can get it fixed.

Here is what I would do change the filter and tighten up the carburetor to the intake , If you don't know how to adjust it take it to someone who knows about carburetors I grew up with them and they can be a pain , I think it may be out of adjustment but I could be wrong for I can not here the car run sounds like to me the gas is not filling up the bowl inside carb. that why the adjustment it should have two adjustments at the base of carb, and after a long while they need to be re adjusted , hope this helps let me know.

Look for a vacuum leak on the manifold.
Spray carb cleaner around the carb. Not a lot just little squirts. When you hit the vacuum leak, the engine will speed up.
You could have a stuck float or debris on the needle, but those are internal to the carb, and you may need help there.

This is easy Carburetor. You can have it cleaned or rebuild it yourself with a re-build kit. Carbs have 7 circuits and it could be the intermediate circuit. The circuit from Idle to Power circuit. Accelerator pump.

You might have a bad accelerator pump on the carburetor. I had a car that did that once. I would try rebuilding the carb.

Has the fuel filter been changed? Has the carburetor been looked at? it has to be one of three problems. Either fuel, spark, or exhaust. Start eliminating them one by one. good luck.
