I know everyone is going to say watch what you eat and excercise. I do!! but, I need some help. I can't work my butt off for a month to drop 4 lbs! That is so discouraging! I need some help, so... someone please tell me something that works along with someone eating healthy, 1200 calories or so (and something to help curb the appetite to stay at 1200 calories) and excercising at least 5 times per wk.

i first had my thyroid tested which was normal so i got a prescription from my doctor to help curb the hunger. i was 40 pounds over weight and now i have dropped 17 pounds. i take fiber tablets everyday plus my all time favorite vitamin prenatal and no im not pregnant. he prescribed phentermine 37.5 but i wasnt able to sleep so i started breaking tablets in half and works fine for me. i watch what i eat and i walk everyday. good luck.

Some people do have more trouble losing weight, and sometimes you just need a little help along. I could mention several supplements that may help with that including Chromium (helps metabolism), CLA, or any of a number of food blockers or appetite suppressants....... but I would moreso recommend talking to a dietitian or nutritionist, as they would be able to look at more factors to see what would help you the most. How you gain weight, how you lose weight, how you put weight on and how to keep weight off are some of the most important factors in finding out what type of supplement would be the best choice for you.

To a very high degree, you should weigh as much as you feel happy with weighing.

As long as you are at a weight where you are healthy, the most important part is that you are HAPPY with your weight... not that you "should be X pounds", but that no matter what you weigh, you are happy with that instead of striving to be a size 2 or something like that

That being said, if you want to lose weight, exercise is a really good (and safe) way to lose weight. In addition to that, I would recommend meeting with a nutritionist or dietitian to see if there is something else that may benefit you more

Okay...I only started last monday...All I do is walk one hour every morning. I wear a calorie counter monitor to loose weight by the numbers. I have already lost one pant size and 7 pounds. And its only been 8 days! I am a woman and have three kids and this is the method I use when I gain weight.. I am now at a size two and everyone is always amazed that I have had three kids.

Helpful Tips for weight loss:

1)A good way to loose weight is to use a calorie counter watch

Keep to a 1,200 food intake

Add 1,200 plus 3,500 (equals one pound of fat) ...and that is the total amount of calories you need to burn each day. Its actually really easy once you start watching the numbers and it doesn't seem like work or exercise. Its just a matter of changing the way you think about loosing weight.

I use this method when i gain some pounds. The first time I did this I went from 168 to 127

2) Most people do not get enough water in their system. Water is your body's principal chemical component, comprising, on average, 60 percent of your weight. Every system in your body depends on water. For example, water flushes toxins out of vital organs, carries nutrients to your cells and provides a moist environment for ear, nose and throat tissues.

Lack of water can lead to dehydration, a condition that occurs when you don't have enough water in your body to carry out normal functions. To determine if you are getting enough water use this simple formula.. Take your weight, for example 150 pounds and divide by 2. Take your answer which is 75 lbs and change it to ounces, in this case 75 ounces. That is how many ounces of water you need a day. Your body performs mostly on water. If you make sure you get enough water everyday your body will perform at top notch and your body will no longer have the cravings of junk food. You will have a better performing body system to help you work out and feel better thru out your day.

A body wrap can help rid your body of excess fatty oils and depositories and can be quite relaxing, you can get them done at a spa or you can do it at home, but I would reccomend visiting your spa for the first time and maybe asking them on the products that they believe are reliable.

It doesn't appeal to some people but a colonoscopy can lose a hell of alot of weight! Your colon and digestion system usually is lined with old food etc. and getting these removed can lose you atleast 3lbs and will speed up metabolism!

When you feel hungry try cleaning a part of the house, as this burns calories and make note on when you feel hungry throughout the day and what you crave people normally crave food mid-morning, afternoon, and late at night! so make sure that you're busy then.

And get rid of all chocolate, dohnuts, chips etc from your house, if you have a family ask them to support you, after all if you crave the foods and theyre not there you can't eat them anyway!

I know waht you mean! have you tried Weight Watchers? I was skeptical of them forever, and I tried it last summer and lost 20 pounds last summer....Litterally from June to end of Aug. And I ate good, and healthy. It is only $12 a week and I am sure they have a location near you. yeah you feel weird the first day, but usually you'll find people of all ages (from 15- 90) at the meetings, depends on what time you go. They also have a web plan (online) but I don't think it really works. I know people try it because they feel embarresed to go but when you go to the meetings you get ideas of waht other people eat. At the meetings you don't stand up and say "Hi i'm ___ and i'm fat" you all just sit and listen to a instructor give you lots of ideas.
If you don't want to do that.... This is what I do when ever Isee taht a few pounds start to sneak back up on me.


Of course drinks lots of water. Like 80 oz a day. If you get a sports bottle (sparkletts) and I fill it 3 times a day or more.

Eat lots of fruit. Watermelon, frozen grapes and melons. I eat frozen grapes while I watch tv.

I try to eat protien instead of any carbs. For lunch eat the fat free ball park hotdogs (if you don't eat a bun you can eat 3), if you need some bread get a low carb tortilla. Or eat lunch meat (like hillshire farms) and a wrap it around a cheese stick.

Dinner eat a salad with cooked chicken breast or even some ground beef, yes cook ground beef throw it on top of lettuce & tomato and put taco sauce on it and wala! You have a taco salad. (Don't go to town and use a pound of ground beef) but you can do 6-8 oz.

If you like sushi I eat 6 rolls (instead of my salad) once or twice a week. The California roll kind with out raw fish.

If you need to snack, of course fruit is the healthiest choice but I am real and know not always what we crave so try Think Thin protein bars (chocolate and peanut butter) or even Zone bars they are both really good and should be found at any store.
Also Fat free fudgicals (only 40 cal), or the Skinny Cow ice cream sandwhiches, I allow myself one every night and they are excellent and filling.

If you feel you need some sort of carb that is normal becuase our bodies need it, yo can try Western Bagels get the ALTERNATIVE kind they are good with high fiber and low carb. you can put sugar free jelly or even ligh butter on top. I melt a slice of swiss in the toster.
Also if you need salty (if you are a chips person) I will eat one serving (and I count them out) of fish crackers (55 is one serving) or pretzels. But I don't eat them every day only if I have a craving.

Crystal light packets or even the walmart imitation ones are good when you just can't drink any more h2o. Diet flavored h2o is good to.

See there is alot of choices to get you started, no this is the life you have forever, but it does kick start your body, then you can play with what works for you and your tastes.

first off increase to 2000 calories and just exercise you wont lose 30 lbs over night the safest and healthiest way is watch what you eat and work out 3-5 times a week. for at least an hour. each time

cut out sugar fatty foods greasy foods salty foods and caffeine
soda causes you to not lose water weight

drink lots of water

menstruating women have a harder time losing weight why i dont know
30lbs wont happen in a month it will take several months

Cut out all breads, soda's, and Pasta's. Eat more fish and chicken and the servings should be the size of your fist. Don't eat late at night. Go walking after dinner or if you can run or jog. Stay active. Drink lots of water. Well if you do this you will see results.
