Has your dog ever won any awards, certificates or other prizes? Maybe he just visited a sick person and made them feel better. Maybe he found something you lost. Maybe he learned to stop pulling his leash. Maybe he caught his first frisbee. Maybe he just learned to make outside, instead of inside your home. Maybe he just learned a new trick.
Feel free to list all your brags here.
No accomplishment is too small or mundane.
*** I just wanted to read something positive in the YA Dog section today.

Has anybody's dog graduated training classes, or earned a Canine Good Citizen certificate, or learned anything that you taught your dog to do?

Hi Shepherdgirl: I have to admit, my dog Bailey never seems more happy than he is when he visits folks at the senior home.

Well, my dog did not win any awards or ribbons, but she literally saved my life. I am Bipolar and I struggle with my moods. One episode I was so depressed I tried to commit suicide by overdosing. My dog who is a shelter rescue who I have had for 4 years supposedly barked and barked and barked. The neighbors came over to see what was wrong, looked in my window and saw me passed out from a drug overdose on the floor. They called 911.
Strange thing....my dog does not bark that much.
She saved my life. Now, because of that, I would never leave her.

I have a 4th place ribbon displayed proudly on my desk that I grin at every time I sit here chatting on YA. It's from a NADAC agility tunnelers course. We did not earn a Q (a qualifying run that would go towards a title in agility) because my dog Annie and I were 29 seconds over course time (yes 29 seconds over SCT and we still placed 4th!). We have never Q'd in agility or placed better than 4th, but man am I proud.
My girl is not a natural at agility, not fast, not even particularly motivated. But the time we spend together on the course is priceless. Despite the fact we will probably never get a Q/10/1st in agility, that 4th place ribbon says it all. How far she's come from the adopted lab that was literally trying to jump out of a moving car window the day I brought her home. Today we work as a team, a slow team that needs to jump 6 inches below our jump height, but a team none the less.
Now my border collie mix....he's another story. But I can't post his brags here quite yet, we've just gotten started. But I am excited to see what he can do!

I had an amazing dog once...her name was Cee Cee and there wasn't anything she couldn't do. She was a buff cocker spaniel....very sweet, gentle and happy all the time. She always wanted to please....she and I had such a close bond. I first started showing her in conformation and I finished her Championship all by myself...she was my first Champion. Then I went on to obedience....she earned her Companion Dog (CD) title. Then, I took her through the Canine Good Citizenship testing and she earned her Canine Good Citizenship award. Next we tried Agility and competed some, but becuase of her strong nose....she didn't do as well because she wanted to put her nose to the ground all the time! The next challenge was training her to be a TOUCH dog through the Support Dogs, Inc. If anyone doesn't know, it's a program that trains dogs (mostly labs) to work closely with people in wheelchairs. They also have the TOUCH program that trains dogs to visit patients in hospitals to make them happy. We passed the TOUCH dog training and for several years we visited a children's hospital, a brain and spinal cord injury unit at another hospital and at a 3rd hospital, we visited geriatric psychiatric patients. Cee Cee was so good with all the patients. Many of the patients started asking for her by name partly because she was one of the few small dogs in the program, but also because she was so sweet. We were also working on her Companion Dog Excellence (CDX) title when she developed a rare disease and died at the age of 9. She will always be remembered with a great amount of joy and she will always have a big place in my heart. I continued with showing in conformation and obedience with other dogs, but I never had a dog like her. She was "SOME DOG!"

Ok, I actually have two dogs to brag about. Neither one of them is a champion, in fact, one is a mutt and the other is a rescue who is not to breed standard. But, I am VERY proud of both of them.
My first one is Sophie, my 10 year old aussie husky mix. Since she came to live with me she has been the mother of my household. She has over the years, told me when one of my other dogs was sick and needed to go to the ER (we hadn't noticed), she has told us when our minpin figured out how to open the screen door and ran away. She steps in and breaks up all canine arguments in the house before they turn into fights, and does it in a non-violent way. Before we fenced our yard, she would never leave it, and even if she was chasing a squirrel would stop dead on command. She is also my soulmate.
My second is Cocoa, my 1 1/2 year old rescued minpin. She has such a sweet, loving and open temperament;she works a rescue event with me every month and helps people to learn about the breed, and even helps get applications for our group! She entertains the crowd like a circus dog (and I didn't teach her that), and even after countless hours of having hands stuck in her face, will still give a kiss and never a bite or snap.
Those are my award-winning dogs, and I wouldn't trade them for anything!

My dogs have titles in Obedience, Rally, Utility, Tracking and Schutzhund. This year we tried herding, we did not do too well. We should be finishing 2 RE titles this year. We have attained CGC certificates and TDIs with a few dogs.
Honestly, I think the dogs enjoy the therapy work the most. They get lots of attention and they make people happy. Of all the things I do with my dogs, I think that the TDI was their best accomplishment.
Now if I could just get Miniature Dachshund to pass the TDI I will be a happy camper. She just will not leave food alone!!
It 's true they really seems to enjoy it the most. We go on specific days and they seem to know what days we go because they are a bit more playful and believe it or not they seem excited.

Well not as accomplished as Dog Judge! Holy cow!
<<<
My Younger Godlen, Ty, has also earned his CGC, and has just got his TDI. He's not a good field dog! :( He loves to go to the nursing homes and loves the kids. I"m think of taking him further with this as a reading helper. Or a Canine Hospital volunteer. I do dock jumping with both the dogs and any swimming things I can find.
That's about it for me GinBall!
Oh yes thes boy's of mine are my constant companions. They are always right here with me by my side or very close by. They go everywhere with me that will allow dogs.
Oh yes last year I reinjured my back very badly. I was home bound for some time. They were here to let me put my hand on their backs so I could steady myself before walking and they didn't move until I was ready to start to walk, they followed me to make sure I wasn't out of their sight. I think I recovered quicker because of them!

UPDATE: Great things about Canada. GREAT, GREAT people. Usually they have 2 separate shows each day of the weekend. ie. 4 shows for the weekend, so you can earn a title in one weekend. A lot of stress on the dog, but if they can handle it, it's great.

Ginger, the JRTx, learns very quickly and gets along with all dogs and wrestles with our cats - if the cats choose to tolerate her.
Foxy, the CHIx, has this way of prancing about that is priceless. She looks like a pony -- my little black 5lb pony with white taps on her feet.
I take both dogs into my Grandmother's home frequently or she'll call and say, "bring up the dogs I think there's some crumbs on the floor". She claimed she didn't want dogs on the property, but she loves them so much. You can really see a light in her 87yo eyes when the dogs visit and lick her and clean up her crumbs.
Positivity is awesome, thanks for the question!

Well, I have 2 dogs, one 5 years old and one that's a 7 mo. old puppy. The older dog is a male and the puppy is a female. She's wild! She was a rescue and is a mutt, but she's a sweet as can be and really cute! She's recently learned to pee outside and we're so happy about that! I actually haven't had to scrub the carpet for like a week and it's great. And to brag about my older dog, he's just awesome. He was a shelter dog and he's so well behaved! He listens to me and obeys my commands and is so loveable. I love to lay on his stomach when we're in the bed. I think my husband's jealous! (LOL). Not much to brag about, but they bring a lot of joy to our lives. Have a great day!
