Currently, my walls are white & beautiful. I would like to paint the walls because white feels temporary. However, I am not painting the ajoining hallway or kitchen... just the living room. I don't want to use an off-white color because I don't think it will look right with 2 connected white rooms. I need a color. My other furniture is burnt red (2 chairs) and green (2 chairs). I have not purchased any wood furniture and would love your input on that as well. Thanks.

Wall color always depends shades of the furniture. You have
browns, orange, burnt red, and what shade of green?
Consider:
light or bright turquoise
light gold
lime
caramel
Add some throw pillows in the wall color, or orange or red or green.
Then, I suggest a wood tone similar to one of the couch browns.
Light - ash or pine
Medium - oak or pecan
Dark - walnut, mahogany, or cherry

Blue is great because it's orange's complementary color on the color wheel - but the wrong blue will vibrate off of the orange & look jarring. I would try lime green. It will give you a very refreshing & tropical feel.

Blue. It's the opposite on the color wheel, and will bring out that color.

Go with a beige or tan. It will bring out the lesser colors.
