one night we gave him flea drops, my mom didn't want fleas jumping off in the house, so she put him outside for the night he hasn't been back in almost 3 days.

he is an indoor/outdoor cat so he is used to being out for the night and he goes outside a lot in the day, too. But I miss him so much it isn't even funny. My mom won't let us get another cat until we move which could be a year from now. I miss Buster so so so so so much.

What should I do to get my baby back?!

Purr's and greetings,
I like what some posts had to say to you here.
Some well I gave them a rousing thumbs down,lol.. :P

Put up posters and add's in the paper, call local vet's and also local humane society and the pound too...
My aunt got a cat in her back yard it's fencened in and well the cat got in her back yard but couldn't get out and luckily she found it's owner.
My auntie has three cats of her own and this snuck into the fenced back yard but couldn't find a way out so maybe your's found a way in and not a way out.
So put up your posters with a picture of your cat!!
Maybe call the local radio stations to announce lost cat it might work too!!
I loved the idea on the toy my son does that to get his cat back in the house. =^^=

purr's and blessings,
Laura
=^^=

p.s. I hope your cat Busters finds his way home to U soon!!

Have you been out calling for Buster? Have you put up flyers in your neighborhood, have you checked at the pound? These are places to start. My little girl cat snuck out and was gone for 3 days (she's an indoor cat only) and just about the time I'd given up that she was gone for good, when I got home from work one night, I heard her meowing under the house. It took some work but I got her out and now watch her like a hawk. Try checking with your neighbors to see if anyone has seen you pet, don't give up just yet.

My sister used to let her cat out too. One day he left and didn't come back. I tried to warn her not to let the cat out. She's done this in past with other cats.

On day while I was talking to my sister on the phone, guess who finally showed up, you're right her cat decided it was time to come home. He was meowing so loud I could hear him over the phone. He was glad to be home again.

He lost some weight, but other wise was in good shape. She took him to the vet for an exam to be sure that he was in good condition. No problems found. Her cat is neutered but the vet said they still get those urges and that's way he decided he wasn't coming home until he was good a ready,

He's now an indoor cat. When he does go out, he's on a leash. My sister takes him for walks also. She found out the hard way and found out how she really missed him. He was gone for two weeks. Before he came home, I told her he'll come home again. They usually do. Seems they can always find there way home again. 9th sence maybe.

You cat hasn't been gone that long. He'll be back when he's ready. He knows he has a good home.

Never let my kitty outside for 25 years. She was happy and content to be a house cat and around us. She knew"where her bread was buttered." We lost her two weeks ago at 25 and 1/2 years old. I still feel she's here at times and am glad she was our house kitty.

Give you cat time to get his act together. He'll be home for you to love him.

Take care

I'm in the same situation, only Jet hasn't come back for a month. Try this, though:

1) Post up flyers at nearby telephone poles. My local Starbucks has a bulletin board. Animal clinics are a must for flyer posting, as well. Or, if there's a certain place in town where everyone posts their ads, check there. Newspapers can come in handy too (lost and found section), and some let you put in free 'lost' ads.

2) Speaking of, call the animal clinics/animal control (cats can be up to a few miles away, though I've just contacted the ones in my city so far). I typed in 'animal' at yahoo locals search and that helped. If they don't have your kitty there, ask them for advice on finding a lost cat.

3) Ask questions to yourself to figure out why he went missing. Do you live on a busy street? Is he declawed? Mine was, and I horribly regret it now, as it lessens his range of survival abilities. If he gets back (and he will), consider microchipping him or buying a dog whistle (I heard it works for cats too).

4) Talk to your neighbors and look over places where he may have been stuck on your property. Has anything changed lately (neighbor moved away or got a new dog, giant vans started parking nearby, etc.)?

5) Go on sites like tabbytracker or craigslist and other sites that help find lost pets. I didn't find any sites particularly helpful myself, but give it a shot.

6) If you have a local vet, talk to her for advice and future tips on preventing your cat from disappearing.

7) I haven't tried this yet personally, but if there's a chance Buster is on your property and simply hiding somehow, put out cat food and water and an old piece of clothing in a shallow box. (Other animals will have access to it too, but try anyway)

Also, I know this sounds cheesy, but don't give up hope. There are tales of cats coming home after weeks and months have passed. I know Buster's only been missing for 3 days, but it's better to act immediately and just take down all the flyers later than to act too late.

I think he'll be back. My old cat, Hershy was an indoor/outdoor cat too, and one day I let her out and she didnt come back until 3 days later, and she was pregnant! lol, strange thing is, the same thing happened to a friend of mine, cat was missing 3 days and came back pregnant.

Is your cat neutered?
He might just be lost. You can try calling all your local animal shelters and telling them your pet is lost. Does he have an ID tag or tattoo or microchip? If not, just describe him to the shelters and if they happen to find him, theyll call you right away. And tell all your neighbors, give them descriptions and such. And walk around the neighborhood a bit and call his name.

Dont worry, Im sure you will find him
good luck!

Since he's used to being outside, he may have been found by someone, and being held inside til they see some kind of notice of a "lost cat". If that's not the case, and he's just roaming around, or hiding out, take something that has his scent on it....rug, bedding, ect, and put it outside where the breeze can blow the scent in the air. The cat will come back to his scent. Good luck.....

Are you sure that your mom didn't do something else with the cat? Generally, cats come home after a day or two. My cat has gone as long as a couple of days. Also, depending on the area around your house, he may be off hunting mice, chasing birds, or he could be being hunted himself.

Cats are always available from the pound so if he doesn't come back, my suggestion is get another cat from the pound and don't let him outside.

Check the "Found" section of all of your local papers' classified ads. You can also place an ad in the "Lost" section giving your location and what he looks like and answers, too. You may also include a reward. Also, check you're local Humane Society, Animals in Distress, or any other Pet Rescue organizations. You should be able to find them in the phone book or through an online search. Good luck finding him, and try to keep him inside when you find him for his own safety.

one time that happend to my cousins cat he is an indoor/outdoor cat to but he came back with a broken leg
he might not come back and post flyers and ask the police to help you give them a picture or a idea of what he looks like
and if you do find him keep him as an indoor cat so it doesent happen again ok .

Post ads all around town, call the local shelters, offer a reward. Maybe someone thought he was in danger and is hanging on to him to keep him safe. Did he have a collar?
