For an interview, yes you should! I rather be over dressed than under dressed. Its a different person interviewing you, and their first impression of you might differ if you decide to under dress, so you should always look your best. Take the safest bet.

You must not have been meant to get that job..I believe everything happens 4 a reason. Whenever been turned down I've ended up w/ a better job anyways. Hopefully the next 1 will offer better pay/location,etc.I've never heard of someone being overdressed for an interview but have heard of many underdressed people not making the cut.Wear dress pants and a dress shirt. If u want help, Nordstrom or Macys (If u can afford it and if u have 1)will know what's appropriate. If you want to save money Sears or JC Penny's should know also.Of course the more subdued-some may call boring-colors the better.Shoes should match belt as best as u can. Shoes should be the same color if not darker than the pants.Socks should match the shoes..I know. It gets confusing. That's why I'd ask a clerk! If they mention their fear that ur 2 formal maybe they just want ur reassurance,"I don't mind getting my hands dirty. I always dress up for an interwiew."Lately they've loved to ask me what my worst characteristic is so be prepared for that bullet.Ask friends their ?'s.GOOGLE the company if possible and try to come up w/ some phrases beforehand that will compliment them while sounding sincere at the same time..and if it seems possible comment on some pics. IE, "How old is your little tiger?" NOT,"How tall is your wife?"though.

Absolutely, you should dress in your most professional outfit for your interview. A suit is best, even for an informal environment. It shows you care about this job.
When you go to your interview, take note of the people at the company and how they dress (they usually take you on a tour). Then at first dress a bit nicer than the normal wear - if they wear jeans and t-shirts, perhaps khakis and a polo-type shirt. Then when you feel more comfortable, relax some more.

You always dress up for an interview. Dress to impress. That interviewer was an exception to the rule, but it is very rare for someone to tell you you're dressed too nice. If you were wearing a really serious business suit, maybe touch it down to really nice shirt and tie and nice slacks and see if that makes a difference.

♥ Yes you should definetly dress up for your interview. Even if the atmosphere is a very casual atmosphere you want to show the company that you are not only can act professional but that you can dress professional as well. This will show a certain level of respect which is [[often]] expected of someone interviewing with the company. Good Luck with your interview!

General rule of thumb for an interview is dress one step up from what you would wear on the job. For example if jeans and t-shirts are worn on the job, then wear khakis and a polo shirt to the interview. If khakis and polos are worn on the job, then wear a shirt and tie, etc.

I've never heard of anyone not being hired just because he dressed too nice for an interview. However, I have heard of lost opportunities to get a job because of sloppy or too casual attire. Remember: it's always better to be over dressed than under dressed for any occasion.

Better to dress up than to dress down and look like you don't care about the job or how you look. It's just respectful to show that you put some thought into the interview and you care about the job.

I wouldn't think you'd have to wear a suit, but I've heard you should always dress up to the next level of the job you'll be doing. You should probably wear dress pants and a nice button down shirt.

Always. Always dress up for a job interview unless you are specifically told not to.
My first job interview was with a family friend so I just showed in casual clothes, thinking it would be fine. He told me to go home and change into a shirt and tie and come back for the interview.
