I am sort of on a diet because I want to lose some weight....I am tempted to skip meals because I don't really feel hungry especially right when I get up in the morning...I skip breakfast a lot and just eat a small lunch or dinner....I've gone one whole day without food before.....is it bad to do that? Should I eat anyways even if I don't feel hunger pangs? I feel guilty eating out of boredom or just because of whatever reasons....

True. Skipping meals will eventually make your weight go down, but it's from being empty, not weight loss. You'll gain it back when you do eat really quick because you are filling up. You should always try to eat something because skipping a meal, especially breakfast, slows your metabolism and makes it even harder to lose weight.

So, eat breakfast, my friend, even just a little bit if you're not hungry, just to keep your metabolism working.

Yes, that is bad for you and you won't lose weight. Your body will go into starvation mode and immediately store anything you do eat, instead of processing it straight through. Try eating 5-6 small meals spaced evenly throughout the day. This works much better.

Yes, that's true. Skipping meals will hurt you in at least two ways: it will slow your metabolism, and it will put your body in "starvation mode" which will cause it to increase fat stores. Skipping meals is about the worst thing you can do when dieting.

yes it is true that its harder to lose weight if you skip meals because your metabolism slows down to compensate for the lack of food, effectively it goes into starvation mode and tries to hang on to the last food consumed. just eat when you are genuinely hungry, theres no need to eat when your not. listen to your body, it will tell you what to do.good luck.
