Yes we did and you DID NOT save us, all you did was give us 7 pilots(one died). If Britain had fallen in the Battle of Britain, Hitler would've then set his sights on America or America would've joined the Nazis. Why? Because do you think that the American armed forces would've been able to hold off the Japanese AND the Nazis in Europe, Not possible. It would've been constant bombings from Japan and then probably a land assault by the Nazis, America would've fallen too. You lot owe us one, big time.

Oh look, it's another one of those "questions" where some guy merely posts an opinion. What do you want exactly, the Americans to suddenly realise the error of their beliefs and agree with you? Or maybe find at least one person who agrees with you so you can award a best answer. This is Yahoo! Answers, not a rant forum. Come back when you a question you genuinely need answers for.

I think a more logical question would be "Could the British Commonwealth alone have liberated the occupied Pacific and Europe all by itself, then gone on to have soundly defeated Germany, Italy and Japan on their own soil?"

Really, what would the British Commonwealth have gone on to do after winning the Battle of Britain, suddenly commit their defeated armies (as an Australian, I hate to admit that) on an all out successful offensive?

I think that your perception is amiss...meaning your attitude, yes, if Britain fell then most likely we would have had to fight the Nazis on our own..., The outcome, who knows! But what you fail to see is that you would have fallen anyways had there been different strategies on the Hitler agenda, Examples: 1.Had Hitler bombed your radar sites instead of your cities you would be speaking deautch today. 2. Had the guerrillas in Greece not been so victorious in their resistence to the Italians Russia would have fallen most likely. (This is an interesting long and detailed story, but not enough space to explain) If interested look up the events previous to the invasion of Russia on the Eastern front, the balkans, Greek Resistence and the timelines of these things that postponed the invasion of Russia and the Winter Season that destroyed the Germans on the Eastern front. Then England would have been the next primary target.

The UK and the USA are brothers in this world it is best to encourage a good relationship.

The French on the other hand have always been a thorn in your side, The USA only needed Independence from you.

How were the Nazis to get there armed forces over to the shores of the USA when their navy was so small? the Nazis had no Aircraft Carriers to provide air cover for their fleet or to cover the landings. No landing craft etc...etc...

The Nazi supply line would have been stretched way thin and with all this manpower out of Germany on their trip to the USA the Russians would have just strolled in and captured Germany with no opposition.

Seriously though...why does this matter? This is in the past, and if anyone was gloating about the U.S. saving England 60+ years ago I think the problem is indicative of them being an asshole rather than of a popular opinion.

I have read enough books and biographies to know you’re talking out of some part of your body that is full of hot air.

The last time I checked, The British were kissing America’s butt, for weapons, food, ships, and anything else you couldn't’t produce or make.

Those U-boats sure did a good enough job to cut you guys off completely off the English Empire.

The British won the who can cut the most corners In military spending considering your parachute landing patrols carried a metal rod with a welded dagger on the end. I believe that is a primitive weapon called a spear, but with your proud tradition, you would think it is a mighty weapon of mass destruction.

That ship called the Hood, didn't’t last long, the pride of England I believe lol.

I believe India provided over 2.5 million to fight the Japs, and they did a great job with the rusting junk you left behind for them that you guys wouldn't use yourselves. I believe that was one of the most proudest moments for India showing off its military power that has gone mostly unknown in today's society.

False. Without america you would have ran out of supplies and lost the war. Also germany would have turned its full attention to russia after conquering europe, as they were already at war. And the japs would have lost just like they did.

You would be speaking German right about now if we did give you everything you needed to fight the Germans and how would you have gone on to fight a major land battle in mainland Europe without help.
