It is very difficult, and even dangerous. Get to know the person, and be sure that they are not a psycho. Do not give out personal information all at once... Slowly, you can progress to talking on the phone, etc. But always be careful!

Where to find it? There are dating sites like eHarmony, PlentyofFish, etc. I've even met a few great girls right here on Yahoo Answers...haha.

What we are talking about is the medium in person v. online or on a day to day basis how many women are beaten by their Husbands or Boyfriends and they did not happen meeting them online and it has been in the American culture for 200 years some men have not accepted that 55 years ago women were no longer their property. With that said, Just meet guy, take a friend, online off line protect yourself you live in the most hostile country in the world. Go by your instinct and if you met a guy online you name the place and even if you meet a person on a dating service there is no way to guarantee that he is sane. Go with your gut feelings.
