is the stool slimy or have a mucous on it? if so this is a sign of infection. He really sounds bad if he is not eating and now not wanting to play. Take him to a different vet and see if they can help you. You need a vet the will invest time and energy to find out what is wrong with the little guy. What are you feeding him? When you go to the vet take a sample of his stool with you, but it is an old container with a lid. The vet can look at the color and look at it under a microscope to see if there are truely worms as the other vet suggests. Please call and make an appointmet. hope all goes well.

It absolutely amazes me how irresponsible people can be with an animal. You sit there and post a ridiculous question about how sick your puppy is when a total moron would know that the pup is in serious trouble,DYING! Take that pup to another vet...NOW........you think because you take it to a vet, you have fullfilles your responsibility as a pet owner? No, you haven't! I am assuming that you took it because you wanted to help it........well the 1st vet was of no help.......so get the pup to another one.....like yesterday.People should be required to pass a test before they get an animal! That poor puppy!

If you have taken him to the vet and your vet doesn't know what is going on, then maybe you should go to another vet. If he hasn't eaten anything in 3 days there is definitely a problem. At 8 weeks old he can go down hill really fast. So stop waisting time asking us and get him to another vet ASAP.

Take him to another vet....this behavior is NOT normal for a puppy, and everything that you're saying means that he's very sick. Maybe he's allergic to something, maybe he ingested something that is making him sick. It could be a reaction to whatever was given to him for worms, it could be any number of things, I would try to find the best vet I could, (maybe ask people for recommendations), and get him there right away, or there's a possibility that your puppy will die.

well if he has been to a vet and they say its not a sickness then it might be that he is just sad. when i got my golden retriever when she was a puppy, for a few days after we got her, she wouldnt eat, she would just lie on the floor depressed. i think she missed her family! :( we tried getting her a new food bowl and it didnt really work. eventually she just got over it! just be really nice to him and play with him and offer him food out of your hand. if it is the same as my dog, he will get better soon. now my golden retriever is 6 years old and the happiest dog ever! but you might want to go to another vet, just in case.

Went through same thing with my puupy. He likes to eat out of my hand, off of a plate (No, I don't let him but if you are desparate...), and wet food. You could also buy stuff for finicky dogs that you put in their food like Nutristat (look that up). Try feeding him human food that is SAFE for dogs to eat. If all fails, it is time for a second opinion from a different vet.

Check him out for kennel cough, giardia, and distemper. Those are the most common canine diseases besides parvo. Especially look for kennel cough and giardia, as they tend to affect puppies more than adult dogs. First and foremost, your puppy needs a vet. Take him there without delay.

So what does the vet say?

If the vet can't figure it out, how can you expect a bunch of people who can't examine your dog or run any tests to do so?

Have you contacted the breeder?

try taking it back to the mom. dogs are not supposed to leave them till almost 4 months old, any responsible breeder would not have put this burden on you. did the vet give any advice? cause you can take a horse to water but you can't make it drink (same with puppies and food)

Maybe the vet can give you some medicine to make him hungry so he can eat. Good luck.
