So many American answers seem to contain biblical quotes and seem to try to convert the unbeliever. I know a lot of the questions are designed to provoke that reaction but i would seriously like to hear some opinions from non-religious Americans.
In the UK religious people tend to do there own thing and not ram it down the throats of of others, with the exception of the born again lot.
Please no quotes from the bible, just your own opinions.

It wasn`t an anti-American question anyway but there are loads of them quoting scripture.
I appreciate all your answers.

KD sometimes the point of asking a question is to get views from different people because the asker may be genuinely interested in their answers, which i am. I`m sorry you feel the need to be offensive but your not American so the question wasn`t directed at you, was it?

There are plenty of us. We're just not as loud and obnoxious as our theist counterparts.

This is a question I could have well asked myself, as I frequently receive religious e mails from American pen friends even though I tell them I don't believe. It's nice to see that some Americans here are agnostic or atheist and not afraid to stand up and be counted. A nation which believes that it has God on it's side has the capacity for atrocity.

Now, if I can only convince my American friends that we DO NOT celebrate thanksgiving here and stop them sending me cards and asking if the family are getting together for it, I'll be a happy man!

Im from the UK ....but in answer to your question id say "Have you ever seen Family Guy?" that so is SO un religious its crazy they insult Christians all the time. Also In the Uk we DO let ppl get on with their own thing but its the US that has Marilyn Manson and may I add Thousands of American fans. You may feel overwhelmed by religosity in the US but its not strictly true that everyone in US is religious. Its just that EVERYONE in the US is more outspoken about their views and if you dont like religion you will pick up on it when its that more than other things. In the UK no one complains about bad service but in the US they would not think twice especially in New York to just shout in your face!!
You lot are WAY more outspoken than us in everything!

There are loads of atheists and agnostics in America, but most of them aren't interested in hanging around here. Unfortunately, in my opinion. We could do with some sane Americans around the gaff.

I'll be over there visiting next month, so that will briefly increase the number by one.

I will not be decorating my hire care with atheistic banners and stickers. One doesn't do that sort of thing.
I might display a small sample of my local flag, to see if I can confuse a few people.

I'm agnostic living in the bible belt of the US. That'd be the southern states that are typically extremely religious, fire and brimstone, southern baptist types. By some opinions I'm considered atheist, but in reality the gods I don't believe in are those worshipped. I don't deny the fact that a god may exist.

So yes, there are some of us. We just aren't the majority. :)

I'm agnostic and I live in America. The South as a matter of fact.

There are a great many of each, but in most cases they are rather quiet in comparison to the "evangelical" sort of Christian who likes to make his or her faith a sort of public display of righteousness, rather like, if you'll forgive the Biblical reference, the Pharisee, of the parable.

I'm not "American" but I live in "America" and I'm an Atheist. But I don't know any "American" Atheists! There aren't many. They're being brainwashed by religion.

You couldn't possibly have read the replies of the entire population of America. Get back to work.

Marilyn Manson, ahem.
