If they actually knew something about a upcoming event that would devastate the world in a few years?
If NASA knew earth was going to be pulvarized in 3 or 5 years, would the Government really let them reveal that to the World?

I think not because society would turn into chaotic animals. At least we do have a warning system from the Bible..

I know many here disregard biblical facts on earth's devastation, but are you really counting on science and the government to tell you when global calamity would hit?

I think the Government will stop caring as soon as they get to many storms, earthquakes, droughts and floods happening at all the same time.. People will soon have to fight for thier own survival
That we can see right now....

Assuming they would try to cover it up (which is doubtful), eventually the information would leak out, there would be no way to contain it.

I mean our government can't even cover up how badly they bungled the intelligence for the Iraq war. Do you really think they could contain information about the destruction of the planet?

You may be correct in that the governments would want to keep it hush for a while to avoid mass hysteria. But you may be wrong.

Science industry...what is that?

Even if people were to rely solely on the Bible, what help does that give? It doesn't tell how many years until everyone is pretty much doomed, it just gives vague predictions like every other "doomsday prophecy" does.

You really need to understand Earth cycles. This planet has and always will have varying numbers of storms, earthquakes, etc. It has nothing to do with the end of times....

Yes, I agree we have a wonderful warning system in the bible and so far people have been wrong every single time they forecast the end of the world. (Remember the doomsayers predicting the end in 2000?). Thats the great thing about the bible, every year someone can proclaim the end is coming based on the bible and sooner or later one of them will be right.

And actually if Nasa or the governement knew a giant comet was hurtling on collision course with the earth, they couldn't keep it quiet. You see there is sure to be a religious nut somewhere in nasa or the government of some country somewhere who will want to claim credit in the name of his god.

Funny that the only miracle your god can possibly deliver is the end of the earth and you are praying for him

Any wonder why religious folks are considered crazy?

"I know many here disregard biblical facts on earth's devastation, but are you really counting on science and the government to tell you when global calamity would hit?"

What does the government telling me anything have to do with believing the Bible is real? Can't I believe that the Bible is BS AND that the government isn't going to tell me anything? I don't have a problem believing that a global calamity can happen, but I don't have to believe in the Bible to believe that.

There is a question if Louisiana was warned? Did all the people listen. No! But they blamed the government. The government may have taken their time. But the people knew,it was coming. just did not believe it. So do you really think everyone believes the word of God?

The earth is responding to the sins of man...us. Call on the Lord while he may be found come before him while he is near. Isaiah 55:1-6.

Think of Pearl Harbour, the facts were there early, but
the Japanese were there before the Government had a clue.
It's not so much about disclosure as it is expecting Government
and/or scientific gurus to have the smarts to not only
comprehend the facts, but to act on them before the game's
over.

It depends on the available options for eliminating the threat, for something where evacuation is reasonably possible, they would do so. It evacuation isn't possible, then they would not even tell the general public. More people can be killed in the panic than by the event itself sometimes.

Please give me evidence that the bible contains ANY information about natural disasters that is suitable for use in emergency services planning.

now when you speak on the "government" I assume you are talking about the US. If something like that was coming, there would be no way to hide cause of all the independent agencies not to mention other countries that would see a worldwide disaster coming. they would not just stop caring.

Please define "Science Industry". I was not aware of this institution.

I'm pretty sure my brother would give me a call if NASA was on to something like that.

Th- B-g N-g has another good point. In over 40 years of cold war with the Soviet Union, despite our best security efforts, we were not able to keep one significant secret from them. That's why I am immediately skeptical of any conspiracy theory that involves the government successfully keeping a big secret.
The government is a body of PEOPLE, and you know people...
