"A bottle of the Grenache my good man" would be the order of the day,

or you could say, "a bottle of no. 24 (or whatever it is on the wine list) please garcon".

i would have probably said may I have the copain grenache. Copain is the winery. And unless the restaurant has more than one wine on the menu from copain, that should be sufficient.

Whether Baby Duck, or an expensive Chardonnay, ask the waiter for a bottle of what ever it is you're planning to drink.

Please note that some wines "by the bottle" in some restaurants are served in decanters, not the bottle it was "raised" in.

I know this must be tough because your used to wine in a box...I am too. I usually go with the Snow Creek Berry in the bottle it has delight-full bouquet with a hint of apple, definitely fermented in a oak vat.

that's exactly how you would ask for it. They will let you know if they have that brand. Or you can look at the wine menu to see what brands they carry.
