Ask them why they don't like him. Is it because he didn't like them back? If he didn't do something bad, ignore them. Like who you want to like.

I would suggest that you talk with your friends about it. Without further details I wonder about two things:
1. You friends are jealous. They liked him, but you got him. That may have created a problem for them.
2. I wonder if your friends found something about him that made them decide that he wasn't a good person. If so, you need to find that out.
Ultimately if he is a nice guy and your friends are jealous, you will have to decide which is more important to you, the friendship or the boy.
God bless you.

first of all you are in the religion and spirituality section, its kinda wierd don't you think in regards to your question?! anyway to answer your question, i think its probably because your friends got jealous all of a suddent now that you like or he likes you and thats why they reacted like that and said that they hate him. plain and simply jealousy! or it could be because he isn't such a great guy and he broke their hearts and thats why they hate him now. either way i would ask them why they hate this guy so much and then slow down and evaluate if this guys worth your time and if you should go out with him. good luck

You might want to look at why they hate him.
Maybe he was a total asshole, or maybe he cheated on them.
Or, maybe they still want him but hate him just to make themselves feel better.
You have to look at those things before you decide.
If the first two examples are correct, then don't. But if he never did anything wrong, go for him if you think you have a chance.

Ask your friends what's up. If they give good reasons, like he hits women, steer clear. If they give petty reasons, forget about it.
If you like him, be confident in your own feelings and trust yourself. What's the worst that can happen? Sure, rejection sucks, but it's going to happen over and over and over again.
Besides, your crush won't go away until you see if this guy is into you.

Try to find out from your friends why they hate him.
If they can't give you a good reason then go for him. Maybe it is just a personality conflict.
Teenage friends get weird sometimes.

Why do your friends hate him? Is there something they know that they are not telling you?
If they can not give a good reason: If all your friends stopped liking ice cream would you stop liking it too?
You are not your friends, chose your own path.
Why are you asking in R&S?

Crush help? 2 Samuel 13. It may not involve rape or incest. But a crush can lead to bad things. One may take advantage of a crush. Is something wrong with him? God knows for sure.

what does it matter to you what your friends' feelings are?
We don't even know this guy, so how would anyone on Yahoo Answers know if there is something wrong with him?
I would ask your friends why they hate him. More importantly, you need to ask yourself why you like him.

You should stay single until you become mature enough to realize you can think and make your own decisions. Of course if you are asking in R&S because you're religious you may never reach that stage.

Have you asked your friends why they hate him? That would be the first place to start. Then talking to him might help. Who knows, he could be a jerk.
