I'm not talking about lace front wigs or weaves but an actual wig sewn on. I've gotten an appt. tomorrow because it is less expensive than a weave but I wonder if it is damaging and if it's difficult to get the wig off once you've had it done? Lastly how difficult is it to wash the hair? Is it just better to wear a wig and braid the hair underneath? I don't want a weave. Thank you.

A wig and a weave, when sown in, are essentially the same thing. And that includes most lace fronts. The only issue with wigs being sewn in is the hairline. If you're looking for believability, that may not be the way to go. It may be better to just braid the hair and wear the wig on top, as that allows for much more versatility with styles and such. Also, with a weave, it's much easier to care for the scalp (grease, condition, etc), were as with a wig, 80% of your scalp is covered by the piece.
If a wig is your choice, you want 100% human hair. It's much more manageable than the synthetic stuff wigs are traditionally made out of. You wash & condition the hair just like you do your own, however, you want to sit under a dryer rather than blow it out. With the human hair, and the right care, it could last up to 2 months.

Your real hair will continue to grow underneath the wig. And, just how are you going to wash your scalp and your real hair with the wig sitting on top? It's going to start to smell bad after not too long.

Why have it sewn on? Youre gonna be hot and uncomfortable.
Most wigs have clips and combs to put onto hair.

i heard that its hard to wash your hair and somrtimes brush it and that it really hurts
