The walls in the kitchen are like a tan/sand color and the living room walls are like a pine green color. The master bedroom is maroon. We're trying to sell the house. We could change the pine and maroon colors too I suppose, but just to do the kitchen cabinets, what color would you recommend? Right now they're white, and I hate to go white again because they show everything. If it helps, the kitchen floor is tan/brown hard tile.

I would choose one of the tile colors. The brown would hide dirt too.

If the walls are tan, do not stick with the white. Tan makes it feel homey and comfortable, whereas white gives the room a lighter feel. I would not go with a tan cabinet because it will be too much. Is there an accent color in the kitchen? If the living room is open to the kitchen maybe try the green to give the tan an accent..but to keep to connect the living room and kitchen also the color of this text box..the faint green would also look nice with a tan

I would leave the cabinets white. White seems like a nice contrast to all the tan/sand/brown you have going on in the kitchen. It is usually wise to tone down deep color walls to a soft warm neutral so I would suggest you repaint the living and bedroom walls. And most important of all in selling....remove all clutter and personal items. Potential buyers have to be able to see past your life and envison themselves in the space.

Sand them down and varnish them. Or go to a hardware store and buy just the doors (people do that all the time). Paint the rest of the cabinet brown/tan/off white.

Dark cherry wood or chocolate is very "in" for kitchen cabinets right now. Check out the kitchen makeovers on HGTV's "Spice Up My Kitchen" for inspiration.
