I have a HK SL8-1 which comes with factory 10rd Mags, and that's all I can find anywhere. I do not want to convert to a G36. SL8-1's only use a single stack Mag, not double stack like the AR-15 or the G36. Is there anyone who can make a higher capacity single stack SL8-1 mag?

For the most part, JD is NOT correct. The SL8 is an AMERICAN MANUFACTURED FIREARM. His advice, although cautionary, is not accurate.

There is NO law restricting the magazine capacity of US MADE WEAPONS
There ARE laws restricting the capacity of NEWLY MANUFACTURED (Imported AND US MADE) MAGAZINES .
There ARE laws restricting the magazine capacity of NEWLY IMPORTED WEAPONS.

There are companies that make conversion kits to allow your SL8 to accept AR15 magazines. This is done with COMPLETE LEGALITY.

Many people create their "G36" from a stock SL8 and they come out looking and performing really well. Top Notch Parts sells parts to create your high capacity version of the SL8 and to date, NO ONE HAS BEEN PROSECUTED ON A FEDERAL FELONY.

Section 922 referring to the 1989 'Import Ban' that specifies what constitutes a 'sporting weapon' and the parts to assemble same is what JD is referring to. Since I'm pretty sure that this rifle is American made, you have no issues with 922 unless you start putting GERMAN parts into the rifle. That means no German bolt, stocks, G36 mag well or german made G36 or foreign made magazines.

Check the two links I included below, you'll get more than enough information from these sites! GOOD LUCK!!!

EDITED TO ADD:
I've checked a number of sources and the information I received is that the SL8 in particular is an American made rifle. I'm not referring to any other gun than this one. I'm curious as to what the "Made In" says on your SL8, since everything points to this rifle being US produced.

Hey you guys are getting contentious, aren't you?

While you MAY be able to modify the SL8, I agree with JD that you MAY be violating federal law by doing so. There is some ambiguity in the law and when there is, do not cross into that gray area.

Also, I would really have to question the common sense of modifying such a fine rifle, if not from the legal aspect but from the operational and resale value aspect. If you want 20 or 30 rounds, sell that HK and build yourself a custom AR.

Sorry ..But NO...It's not a question of no one having the ability to make a higher capacity magazine, but the risk and legality issues if they did. Since All HKSL-8's are made in West Germany and imported, the Federal Government has restricted any firearm that is imported, not to have a magazine capacity exceeding 10 rounds or capable of holding more than 10 rounds. H -K being world renowned as having a great reputation for the overall quality and innovations, and state of the art technology isn't about to do anything that would affect their sales here in the U.S.
This is further complicated by some individual state laws that already prohibit the sale or possession of ANY magazine that is capable of holding more than 10 rounds. It's going to get much worse before this is over.
You will run into the exact same problem with the G36.
The point is there are no plans to make or manufacture high capacity magazines for the HK SL8-1 or the G36., and no one with any possible way to manufacture one won't and risk being held criminally responsible or civilly liable for any resuilting injuries. Despite the high price tag for the SL-8* $1550.00 you are stuck with the 10 round magazines.
For the purpose of clarification: There are in fact "conversions" and after market products, not manufactured by H-K available that supposedly will allow the SL-8 to use AR-15 magazines, or increase the straight line capacity of these magazines. If you actually have READ the factory specifications for the H-K SL-8 you will see that these conversions will not function as the magazine was designed for. This H-K has a special "Single Stacked" magazine that was specifically designed for a single and not "staggered" line of bullets in the magazine, as others would have you believe. It CANNOT be loaded with any design of stripper clip either, ALSO outlined in the factory specifications. ANY variation or changes to the weapon or magazine voids the lifetime warranty that H-K provides. You are not required to take my word on this, as everything I have outlined is available to read/ or verify on the H-K website listed/provided.

SPECIAL NOTICE FOR: LawGunGuy(AKA..ADAguy)...ALL HK SL-8's are manufactured in West Germany and IMPORTED to the U.S.
They are distributed by H-K, Trussville,Alabama Telephone (205) 655-8299 www.HK-USA.com. I think you need to check your own sources.......

I did a rapid Google seek and located an public sale that has already ended on the GunBroker internet site. They presented a clean-In-The-field H&ok SL8-a million for approximately $1550.00 with 2 10rd mags, a sling, and the manufacturing facility instruction manual. this is right in keeping with the MSRP. in case you may desire to have an SL8-a million, this is advisable to succeed in out to the agency because of the fact the article wasn't bought. you will locate it in case you Google 'HK SL8-a million', in simple terms like I did to make advantageous approximately what i assumed the fee could be for any accessible rifles. a clean EOTech is around $4 hundred.00, upload yet another $30.00-$50.00 for the lever mount. A Harris bipod's funds is from $50.00 - $a hundred and twenty.00. counting on the rail setup, you're over $2000.00 without including interior the foregrip or the case. you may desire to evaluate fairly some issues. a million. Will your husband desire a used gun? 2. Will he settle for black somewhat of gray? 3. grew to become into the rifle appropriate maintained in the previous, for the duration of, and after those 500 or so rounds? 4. Is the fee reductions of a few hundred money nicely worth no longer having a guarantee on any of those products? the fee sounds very reliable for what he's offering and that i desire you the applicable of success. Your husband might desire to evaluate himself very fortunate that he has a spouse it is so supportive of his shooting activities pastime.

I think LawGunGuy and JD are both right and somewhere in between the two of them is the real answer.
JD makes very good points but even though the H&K is imported I'm pretty sure you can pick a statside modification for it. In some states pretty much anything is legal if you willing to pay for a tax stamp.
My advice is google your states gun laws until you find a government database for your state and read up.
And dude LawGunGuy, Heckler & Koch is definitely in Germany, go to there website, hell just look at the NAME. That screams deuscheland!
