I can tell you this, they are a lot better than what they use to be...I am so glad they got rid of the Ham Slice and Omelet with Ham...and the new ones have a heater...that did not come along until the middle 90's...but what is strange they took the Cheese Spread out of the Spaghetti and replaced it with Jelly...Jelly doesn't go with Spaghetti...lol...one thing about the heater is you can make a MRE Bomb out of it...=)~

With every day pass, our country is getting into more and more trouble. The inflation, unemployment and falling value of dollar are the main concern for our Government but authorities are just sleeping, they don’t want to face the fact. Media is also involve in it, they are force to stop showing the real economic situation to the people. I start getting more concern about my future as well as my family after watching the response of our Government for the people that affected by hurricane Katrina.
According to recent studies made by World Bank, the coming crisis will be far worse than initially predicted. So if you're already preparing for the crisis (or haven't started yet) make sure you watch this video at http://www.familysurvival.tv and discover the 4 BIG issues you'll have to deal with when the crisis hits, and how to solve them fast (before the disaster strikes your town!) without spending $1,000s on overrated items and useless survival books.

NEGATIVE!! MRE=MEALS, READY TO EAT. Of course, now with the addition of the flameless heater, they're not really Meals, Ready to Eat; for it takes a minute or two to heat up your main meal.
The chicken ones taste like chicken, however the meatloaf taste like meatloaf; not MOM's meatloat; but still not bad.
Does anybody here remember when they first came out??!! Ham & Chicken Loaf; Dehydrated Pork & Beef Patty; Omelet with Ham........those were the days!! Now we got all this 'hoity toity' meals, when all we really need is some MEAT & TATORS!!!!!

depends on what kind it is. Some of the vegetarian ones like Chicken Alfredo are definitely not worthy to be fed to a stray dog. Others aren't that bad, like Beef Stew, Thai Chicken, or Teriyaki Chicken.

Eating MRE's is like playing darts withyour eyes closed. Sometimes you get a bullseye and sometimed you get a 1. They are far better now than they ever have been. They aren't supposed to taste like 5 star restraunt food they are supposed to keep you alive. And with the thousands of calories they pack, they do just that.

If that's what chicken tastes like, I'd quit eating chicken. Yuck! I've had to eat a few of these things and what I'm wondering is where do they mine that stuff?

Some aren't too bad, others are nasty. I guess it is just a matter of personal taste. I like the pound cake, but I hate the crackers.

Heh...you all may slam MRE's at the comfort of your desk, with food a short walk or drive away.....but be out in the field for a week or two, and they don't taste too bad at all. :)
