I think they are lying pieces of ****. They tell her that within a couple years she could be in the pentagon working there as a guard. I think they just told her that because its what she wanted to here. Anybody believe that someone could get moved into the pentagon after just a couple years

It really depends. It is very possible if she goes into certain fields, doesn't have a criminal record, hasn't done drugs, and isn't gone by the end of the screening process.

I was an inch away from guarding Camp David only 6 months into being in the Marines. The screening process got me though when they interviewed my ex g/f and when they interviewed me...they pulled me out of a training op and I was still wearing camo paint and looking pretty ragged.

I will say though that some recruiters do lie. Many don't though. If a recruiter can be caught in a lie, then their career is pretty much over. You're always free to do research and get a second opinion.

I know that the Marines have embassy guards, and guards at the White House and Pentagon. It is passable if she goes into security forces, but the location of the Pentagon isn't guaranteed. As for working as something other then a guard, i would say she has a very slim chance. However they always need low ranking personnel to answer phones and push papers.

It is very possible she could work at the Pentagon. Likewise, she could end up in downtown Kabul. If she wants to work security in the Pentagon, her best bet is as an MP. They also use a lot of clerical personnel. However, a recruiter's promise doesn't mean anything until it is in writing on the enlistment forms. Make sure she gets everything in writing!!!

Yes, it's possible. My last assignment was at the Pentagon. The Marine annex, up the hill at the Pentagon extension, was full of young, junior Marines doing administrative work. They processed my final household move for me as the navy admin had a 6 week for an appointment.

Yes it is possible....and for extra money every month a recruiter would tell her exactly what she wanted to hear. It is not lying it is just the best case scenerio and it is exactly what she wanted to hear.

If I was a recruiter and a prospect came in and sat down and said that he was going to college, ran out of money, and he wanted to become a dental tech (or whatever) I would make his eyes light up like a Christmas tree. It is by no means lying. I am sure she played right into his game, spilled her dreams and goals, and he ran with it.

My friend was station their on his first posting after AIT.

PS
The Pentagon sucks to work at. It is long hours with high visibility if you do something wrong. That and there is not enough space inside of it for everyone. He was in a cubical size office with three other soldiers. For one of them to stand pull the rest had to pull up close to there desks.

That could very easily happen, depending on her military job skill, but definetely. Enlisted administrative people run that place, of course you only hear about the Generals there.

Marine Recruiters aren't lying pieces of $#*, We don't have time for that, We only want people that want to be Marines, I think you are just upset because your Girlfriend beat you in the area of "GUTS" I'm sure you wouldnt have enough down there to tell the recruiters what you wrote in person.

Oh so you're letting her join the Marines but you don't believe anything they say even thought it true? How....cowardly of you. You'd let your girlfriend fight to keep your butt safe but you wouldn't. that says so much about your character and a great deal about hers.

For your information, she could be in the White House guarding the president himself. I know a few who have gotten that position and they loved it. If she has what it takes she cold get that job but it's all up to her. You could NEVER get even close cause they are looking for brave people.
