I don't know I get asked that all the time and it gets on my nerves. I think that people actually think you are supposed to have one all the time or something. I also think that they are nosy and need to mind their own business. I think it's butting into one's personal life and they have no right to be asking such personal questions. I am always asked why aren't I married? Well, does one have to be married? I am not married and in my 30s but I am not divorced either.

Don't worry about it...some people think one must have a boyfriend or girlfriend from the time they are old enough until they die, or something is wrong with them. They are the ones who actually have the problem...some of the best times of my life have been when I was single.
As long as a person is happy, it doesn't matter what their relationship status is...and everyone should be able to be happy as a single (or they've got issues they need to resolve).

people just trying to be nosy is how i see it
some ppl ask me that but i just tell them that
i haven't found the right one. In the past some
ppl just think because i look the way i look i should
automatically have a dude on my arm..that's not true.
as long as it doesn't bother you brush it off.

We live in a sexually charged society. Those who are single whether happy or not are seen as abnormal.
Ps
Always do want makes you feel comfortable and ignore the pressure

yes theyre dumb and they think that people should constantly be in meaningless relationships just so they can say theyre 'with' someone. and they move from one to the other with hardly any breaks in between. dont worry about it..it doesnt mean you have a problem..theyre the ones with the problems

It means that they think you're a special person, and that they're shocked that someone hasn't latched on to you. It's pretty much a compliment. They're just surprised someone as good as yourself isn't taken.

It means you are letting those people control you.
And, you are wasting your precious time even listening to their bossy, insensitive questions.
Just tell them "no one could possibly be good enough for me!"
Then, ask them why they haven't gotten plastic surgery, when they need it so badly.

well its like a status 'thing', something you can boast about.
its not necessary to have a bf/gf, anyone can live by himself alone ( and with chat rooms, maybe alone forever ),

Some people think it's a type of compliment. I heard it before and thought... 'There hasn't been a guy that could hold my attention long enough, your welcome to try...'
