These days, blindness in one eye will disqualify you from most militaries of the world. I think it most likely has to do with the effects it has on depth perception, as someone with only one functional eye must rely on monocular depth cues.

No. You can remain in if you lost the eye while serving. I know 2 Marines with one eye. One lost to cancer, one to an ied.

I would very seriously doubt it. You go thru an extensive physical before you are enlisted.
