No, the problem is the way government protects its citizens. Like those who have money have liberties and justice , but those who have nothing have to go to jail for the same crimes other people committed and didn't pay for them.
Police, lawyers, judges are a big company who make lots of money and usually get the poorest who can't defend themselves. Without crime there will be no business for these people.

In the age of specialization, the police have various titles. The job is to "police the specific area". This keeps the jobs done by well trained officers. Americans are not "so much law breaking and criminal minded" we are security conscious since terrorists, who are jealous of our freedoms have made this necessary. In the United States, the citizens have a freedom that only brings out the jealousy of others. While, we are not better than anyone else, we are able to co-exist without killing the other groups we don't agree with. We, don't go around bombing their places of worship, their market places, etc. There is discrimination, but compared to what I read and see in the media, we are wonderfully assimilated compared to France, Iraq, and other countries where the different ethnic groups are targets of terror.

Hurray for the police. Hurray for the USA.

NOT all Americans are law breaking and criminal-minded! There are also non-Americans that break the laws, and are criminals! STOP categorizing people into one group - everyone is an individual, and should be treated as such!

As for your question, pertaining to different types of police... I believe that there are different departments in law, to deal with the different types of crimes, etc.. Just like teachers in high school or college... You have one that will teach English, and one that will teach Mathematics.

I am sure that it also makes their jobs a little simpler, seeing as how they have very stressful and demanding jobs. I mean, how would you like to be in charge of different departments!? One person can do only so much!

Is there another country where people commit crimes on the railroads, but not at the airports? What's the difference? The fact that we have different types of police doesn't mean we have large amounts of crime. It just means we have a well trained police force.

Each form of your first set of described officers have a certain duty to perform. Personally, I'm glad to see them as without them, the terrorists would run wild within our communities. This (in my perspective) USA is the greatest country on earth and I would like to see it remain that way. Would you prefer to be accosted in a parking lot with no help near by? Or maybe you would prefer to see our police officers carry nothing but a night stick like the English? Also as far as your "Internet police", I sure hope so, because allot of fools have no business on the net.

It's because they all do the same thing, but they all specialize in different areas of enforcement.
IE: State Highway Patrol has a division that is specifically tasked with enforcing semi truck weight laws. They are a part of the Highway Patrol, but they are tasked with that specific duty.

And some of those are not police at all. They are just terms.

Just because we decide to use specific police departments to cover different areas or other uses and you may not, what difference should that make to you or anybody else. Do we tell you how to set up your police departments?. You really have nothing better to concern yourself with?, if not maybe you need a hobby or girlfriend or something.

It isn't as much the citizens are criminals as much as the government sees all citizens as such.

The one undisputable truth is that ALL governments grow.

Government must grow by increasing power, the laws increase power and with the increasing power comes the extention of the governments' exercise of power and the exercise of power is achieved through it's enforcement agencies upon it's citizens...

The citizens aren't more criminally minded; it is simply that government has grown too powerful over it's citizens.
