ive been dealing with this problem for about 3 years, i've had therapy, shots, pain killers galore and i've been to a chiropractor. right now i'm walking a mile a day to keep my legs in shape, they have told me thru exrays, mri that nothing is wrong. my pain disagrees. I thought it was pinched nerve also and the quack told me Oh no, thats not the problem just sounds like ur butt muscle is so tight its pressing up against ur sciatic nerve. i've heard of muscle tension but thats a little out there. my personal dr has worked with me time and time again, he listens to me. He knows all about my case and he has kept me with pain relievers. He has also asked if I'd had a bone scan to look for stress cracks. I wear wire mesh but I dont lift heavy things. the last company dr i saw placed a weight restriction on my file of no more than 10# thats the most weight I can lift. sometimes u just have to do things that hurt ur body ya know?? thru all this they still have no diagnosis.

First off you need to go see your family physician. What you are describing can be any number of issues, and may not necessarily be a joint problem. It could be anything from pinched nerves to problems with the muscles to a neurological problem.

Good rule of thumb, if he acts or sounds like a quack and the problem still exists go see someone else.

Perhaps the company doctor doesn't want to take a chance that your problem is work-related and that the company would have to pay for your health services. Go to an orthopedic surgeon and get a real diagnosis and advice. This is not a set of symptoms to ignore!

sounds like a pinched nerve or a ruptured disc.
I had this, suffered for a year before it was finally too much to handle, and had surgery to fix it. best thing I did for myself.

so was this work related? is that why you have to go to a company dr? can you change doctors? I would.

I can help you.
I'm a Licensed Massage Therapist.
If you were on my table, I would work on you every week (as many days as needed) until you were back at ten.

It's too bad you're far away. I have no appointments this morning, either.

There are some really great exercises that can help.
You need to see a physiotherapist and he/she will be able to tell you the best exercises for you.
