The bible says it can be blotted out.Psalms 69:28.

Jesus told us a parable about some seed being scattered on four different kinds of ground.

One ground was too hard to receive the seed.

The other three were able to receive the seed and even start growing (thus indicative that their names were, indeed, written in the Lamb's Book of Life).

In two of these three grounds, the seed died out for one reason or another.

We should make sure that our hearts are like the good ground so that when God's Word (the seed) takes root and starts growing, it isn't killed off by stones, weeds, etc.

Mind you, I am not talking about a sin we may commit. The Scripture even says that if we DO sin (note the "IF", not "when"), we DO have an advocate with the Father.

Rather, I am talking about the person who, after hearing and receiving, turns their back, either because of the cares and riches of this world, or other things.

In addition to the Psalms reference, there are scriptures in Revelations that talk about this. So yes, a person can definitely have their name taken out of the book of life. But the good news is that it's not a case of make a mistake and you are out. Our God is willing to forgive any sin as long as the person is truly willing to repent from the sin. We belong to a God of 2nd chances.

I don't think so....

The names in the book of life have been there since before the foundations of the earth......the called....the chosen

If your name is not in there.....then you were never saved to begin with.

The white throne judgment is reserved for non-believers.....who will suffer the second death.

The bema seat however.....is the Christian judgment....where we will get our rewards.....or lose them.....but at that point, salvation is a lock. (See 1 Cor 3:9-15)

Rev 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Here, God is clearly telling John that the possibility of having ones name blotted out exists.

Hi Gilbert, Yes this is a serious question that I think a lot of people can debate on.

1. To be born again - I always give pictures, so here we go....
It is like banking a cake: so here is one of the main ingredients
There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

Jhn 3:2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

Jhn 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Jhn 3:4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

Jhn 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Jhn 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Jhn 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

You will notice that Jesus said "Ye must be born again" 3 times, so this ingredient must have been very important. I would say almost as important as baking powder is to a cake, without this ingredient, the cake will be flat

1. Justification that comes with being born again - All Gods doing.
2. Sanctification is thought the Water of the Word - all our doing - you cannot be judged by something you don't know. So you will only be judge when and if you know what the Word says and you either obey or disobey. - that is now the rest of the ingredients of the cake (flour)

Obedience is the next one - The Lord says if you Love me you will obey me John 14:15 - another ingredient of the cake

When you have all the ingredients ready the only thing you must still do is bake the cake or what?

Live the life of a Christian, a peach three does not have to say "I am a Peach Three" Just bear the peaches and all will know that you are one.
Matt: 25: 35 - 40
35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,

36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'

37 Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?

38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?

39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'

40 The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

In conclusion I must now proof that not one ingredient can be taken out of this cake, and the main ingredient is the baking powder BORN AGAIN.

But however, according to me the fact remain that our reward is not on earth but in heaven and that you can be less rewarded.

So my answer is you can seperate yourselve from God but He will never seperate Himself from you. It is our choice for He gave us freedom of choice.

So, I am open to be criticized.
Take care and remember He Loves You

Jesus died for the sins of all mankind so everyone starts out with there name written in the book of life. Those, who of their own freewill and choice chose to overcome through Jesus Christ (Rev 3:5) are those whose names are not blotted out of the book of life. All others who have chosen a different path will have their names blotted out.

Hello, children. I am feeling too doggoned good today--my wife is back after a long, long shoot in France--to even pause and respond to such nonsense as a 'Book of Life.' My stars, people! You have a brain! Some of you even have one that works. Look to it!

Hello,

In some cases you would think so. If I renounced God and Jesus and converted to Paganism or Satanism for example or die in grave sin according to the belief of many Christians.

Most Christians think it cannot be taken out. I think it can be, and I am Christian.
There is a few verses that say no one can seperate us from God. I think that is true. But I can seperate myself and you can seperate yourself. It's called free will. I don't believe in "once saved always saved".
