I mean, at least half the people here don't believe in the tooth fairy, but I think we could all agree the tooth fairy is real because we are all talking about him/her

The tooth fairy is as real as the stories about it. The fact is that you can only prove that something is real when you have undisputable evidence (and sorry, there is not such evidence for the tooth fairy).
The same goes for proving the existence of god. Besides, if someone had irrefutble evidence of the existence of god, religion will be useles. If someone would prove that god exists, that inmediatly will favor the existence of one religion above all others (because one will be real, and the others won't).
Alas, no one can prove it, so it breaks down to what you want to believe.

the tooth fairy isnt real because were talking about him/her. I don't believe in santa claus either, but i know alot of little children sure do. The key word is faith. if you believe that God is real you cant prove it, but then again we cant prove alot of things.
