Suicide is simply setting in motion events that will knowingly result in your own death.

According to this, Jesus' death WAS suicide.

Isn't this a sin? Why would he HAVE to atone in this maner? How do two wrongs make a right?

If you are having trouble following my logic here, please feel free to give up and just quote some random scripture that gives nothing to the topic whatsoever. Thanks.

I don't believe the bible says anything about suicide specifically being a sin. It just claims that life is sacred.

Don't forget that the christians actually attribute Jesus's death TO their God, and he is allowed to kill as much as he wants because he is God.

"Suicide is simply setting in motion events that will knowingly result in your own death."
Your argument hinges on this assertion, yet there are many cases in which one could disagree with it. For example, a bodyguard who takes a bullet for a person he or she is hired to protect would generally not be considered a case of suicide, nor would someone who threw himself or herself in front of a truck to push another person out of danger. Furthermore, I could not find any online dictionary that would agree with your definition.

You are correct. Perhaps this sin of Jesus was forgiven as soon as Jesus died for sins just such as this.
