you don't gain weight, but you don't lose it either. people who skip breakfast tend to overeat later in the day. they don't work as well because their brains don't have fuel to think. your body will think it's being starved (which it is) and hang onto every calorie it can. you wouldn't drive your car with an empty gas tank. why drive your body on empty?

There is a correlation between not eating breakfast and weight gain. Most people believe this is because not eating in the morning slows your metabolism.
Metabolism is your body processing energy (food). When you don't eat, you're alerting your body to work more efficiently. This is why many people feel tired or sluggish when they don't eat.
Back in "caveman days" it was a good thing to have a slow metabolism. It allowed hunting groups to go long periods of time between finding the next kill. Today, food is everywhere--and we don't want to be calorie-efficient, because we like to be skinny. So in order to keep your body from reverting to "conservation mode," you're best off eating regularly.
Studies show that eating the same amount of calories over 6 meals will help you lose more weight thant over 3 meals. (And you're asking about reducing to 2 meals.)

Will you neccessarily gain weight? No. Does not eating breakfast hurt you? Yes.
Eating breakfast speeds up your metabolism since when you wake up your body will need food or else your metabolism starts to slow. Now if you wake up at noon and eat, that's still considered breakfast for you since it's the first meal. Basically you want to divide your calorie intake evenly across the day for best results on keeping weight off. Though if you are a regular exerciser you can be much more lenient on when you eat.
Basically, people say to eat breakfast mostly to overweight people because it curbs their calorie intake for later in the day when they are more likely to splurge and put on some fat.
And it's better to eat a lot earlier in the day than later on because it's easier to burn off.

I have always heard that all my life but If I eat breakfast I eat more all day long. I just get more hungry. If I drink coffee for breakfast and then eat my first meal around 11 am- I can EASILY stick to my 1200 calorie diet and Im finally dropping weight.

Nope. You need to consume more calories than you burn in a given day to gain weight. However, you will be more likely to over-eat when lunch time or dinner comes around. Eating something small for breakfast will help keep up your metabolism and prevent you from eating larger meals later in the day, which takes longer for you to burn off.

Not exactly. If you eat breakfast it will stimulate your metabolism to start burning calories. If you do not eat, your body will stay in a fastiong mode. As when you were sleeping. When the body does this, it stores calories for the long haul.

breakfast helps you to stay awake and if you don't eat breakfast it just makes you eat twice as more when lunch or dinner comes around and you will want to eat more before you go to bed, so find something that you like every morning, something healthy of course :) good luck
