I have a PS3 Controller and I want to turn my Controller off without using the console since its packed. Is there a way to turn it off? I look at the lights with the numbers and they are all off. Is that off or is it still on? Please help, I don't want to have the battery dead.

It's off. If the system is off and the controller is on or you try to turn it on then it'll turn itself off again after a short while when it realises it can't 'find' your PS3.

The battery will leach even if you have it out and with the battery inside unable to remove it from the device it will slowly go down. The key is to not keep putting the controller to charge. This will destroy the battery for good a lot quicker. Let it run down before you charge it and the battery will last a lot long for you.

It is off, and thankfully, because it would be hard to turn off without the system.

if the ligts are off, then the controller is off. if the controller was on, one of the lights would be lit.
