Why the rebellion towards Christianity?

Islam is threatening to take over the world by sheer terror and total destruction, but non religious people still use the argument of the Christian Crusades in the 2nd century.

Come on people, that was 1900 years ago. Islam is threatening Nuclear war on America, England & Israel.

Why is this being avoided by non-religious people?

Good Point!

Funny that they feel more threatened by us than anyone else. Funny that our arguments warrant attacts from them when we are discussing things on here like evolution or Creation. Funny isn't it. Funny that the people who are ALL about logic, and "my brain can do it all" have so little logic when it comes to this.

Funny...not really...

David p above me said "I fear islam a much as I fear Christianity" they're afraid of us? why? because our beliefs are a direct opposition to theirs? becuase we have power behind us?

Where is this "worldwide" terror in 2007? Are you serious?

How does Islam, a set of teachings, go about threatening nuclear war, pray tell?

How is this set of teachings threatening to take over the world?

Muslims can't even manage to produce ONE country ruled purely by Islamic Law and under an Islamic leader. Now you're saying we are threatening to take over the world! A bit paranoid, don't you think?

This is nothing new in how blind they are. The devil is carefully slow in his deception, so as to take man by surprise. But Satan has been constantly working behind the scenes for his final onslaught against mankind, and people are pathetically ignorant. We are all standing on the brink of eternity and the world's worst era of time since man was created sits on the horizon for all non-believer's , and there have been warnings / signs foretelling this in God's Word that we read as well as witness happening today, and even still they willingly allow the devil's noose to get tighter around their necks. Why? Because they love the pleasure of sin more than they do attaining heaven....they'd rather be deceived by Satan than received by God. Remember, our battle is against principalities and powers in the air. The rebellion is against Christianity because the devil leads the way. But we can have peace beacuse we have already won the battle through Jesus......the rest is just details!

You must not pay much attention. I have total disdain for all religions. I criticize Islam as well as Christianity. I will admit the Christians are more likely to not just delete the questions regarding there faith while Muslims show very Little tolerance for being questioned. Wanna buy some pics of Mohamed? Just kidding. Don't tell them I said that they can be mean.

I'm not rebelling against christianity, I'm fighting the home-grown terrorists that keep trying to make me bow down to THEIR god. SOME Muslims may be causing havoc in other parts of the world, and even intend to do the same here, but they are only a marginal/negligible portion of the Islamic faith, and they don't have the sheer number of voting citizens in this country to prevent the spread of disease by banning birth control for young women and sexually active girls. Just because you advocate abstinence does not mean that everyone will do what you advocate. It's better to have protection available for those that do than to not have it, and Muslims have NOTHING to do with that.

Then of course there's gay rights and stem-cell research, abortion, and a bevy of others that would really help to make this country a better, more tolerant, more medically advanced nation if it only weren't for those that choose to elect people that legislate their religious beliefs above what's logically sound and actually good for my country.

Oh, by the way, you really need to take a course on world history. If you're still in highschool, please take it as an elective. If you're in college, don't skip it for U.S. history alone, you're missing a lot of info that can help you realize the fallacy of your statements about the crusades and Islam.

You are so full of it. If the western world didn't constantly threaten the Islamic world we wouldn't have these issues. And if you believe everything you see on the news, you have my pity. But people will fight back, by whatever means are left to them. When the U.S. embargoes Islamic Nations, denies them the right to self-government without interference, wages unjust wars, sides with Israel against decency and humanity, what do you expect, invitations to a luncheon? When the U.S. treats ALL nations fairly and equitably, these attacks will cease. Until you and your government can practice the "humanitarianism" you claim, don't expect anything other than what you have received.

Radical believers of ANY faith (David Koresh, Jim Jones, need I go on?) are dangerous, frightening people. Not all followers of Islam are terrrorists, not all terrorists are followers of Islam (Tim McVeigh is a prime example).

Pound for pound, persecution for persecution, Christianity has still done far more damage than Islam. Perhaps it is because they "think big" and want everyone to see things their way or to cease to exist if they don't.

Besides, if you want to trot out "old" issues to discredit the dangers of Christianity, then how about the metaphorical death threats I get every time I tell someone on this forum I am Wiccan. I get at least 3 responses (mis)quoting the bible stating "thall shall not suffer a witch to live". That goes back before the 2nd century, but was used again last week.

I live in the UK.

There is about as much threat of Islam taking over here as there is of an army of pink pigs flying from Scandinavia to convert us all to the church of the holy raddish. Get a sense of perspective man. Gee.

And if you are worring about nuclear weapons, remember that only ONE country on Earth has ever used them to kill. And its Christian. And its in North America. And only ONE country on Earth has weapons illegally. And its called Israel. It put a man in prison for 30 years just for telling the world this.

Again. Get a sense of perspective man. Gee.

It seems that you have lot of knowledge about Islam from the media.

Everyone says that muslims are commiting acts of terrorism. Like 9/11 but when you talk about proof they don't have it. Till today Muslims are prime suspects.

What about bombing 1000's of innocent women and children in Afghanistan, just for one man. Does Christianity justify this type of terrorism.

Why do people judge Islam by looking at some muslims, we don't judge Christianity by looking at Hitler.

Islam does not justify the killing of any innocent soul.

Muslims are labeled as terrorists:-
A terrorist is a person who causes terror. The moment a robber sees a policeman he is terrified. A policeman is a terrorist for the robber. Similarly every Muslim should be a terrorist for the antisocial elements of society, such as thieves, dacoits and rapists. Whenever such an anti-social element sees a Muslim, he should be terrified. It is true that the word ‘terrorist’ is generally used for a person who causes terror among the common
people. But a true Muslim should only be a terrorist to selective people i.e. antisocial
elements, and not to the common innocent people. In fact a Muslim should be a source of peace for innocent people.

Islam is derived from the word ‘salaam’ which means peace. It is a religion of peace whose fundamentals teach its followers to maintain and promote peace throughout the world.

Thus every Muslim should be a fundamentalist i.e. he should follow the fundamentals of the Religion of Peace: Islam. He should be a terrorist only towards the antisocial elements in order to promote peace and justice in the society.

Today Islam is the fastest growing religion in the West, if your claim was true, this would have not been the case. The western media tries to maline Islam as a terrorist religion, a religion which oppresses women, as a result people get interested in Islam and end up reading the Quran and find the Truth.

As I asked in one of my earlier questions, why are the Crusades so bad? Didn't the medieval Europeans have the right to fight back against Muslin invaders? Were the Europeans supposed to roll-over and accept domination by a foreign power that was bent on taking away their freedom and religion by force? How were the ancient crusades different than the modern-day invasion of Afghanistan by NATO in response to the 9/11 attacks on the U.S.?

I'm Muslim and American, and I don't cause the problems you mention. I am not a terrorist, I don't care to take over the world, I cause no destruction and I have no nuclear capabilities. Your generalizations are pathetic and weak and from what I see, most of the issues you mention originate from "Christian nations."
