I do not like labels either. If your not "Christian" then your a pagan, satanist, athiest, ect. If you wear anything that resembles goth attire then your a Sk8tr - Emo - or into witchcraft ect. WHO FN CARES! You are a human being first and foremost and how you represent your personal views whether how you dress, the music you listen to, or how you speak you should not be labeled a certain way. When I say something to a friend of mine to point out someone I usually will say "Hey, see that guy/girl human over there with the goth clothes on" or "Did you see that hair on that girl human". Yes I use human and usually to make a public point if anyone is eaves dropping so they will get the hint. As long as you live peacefully and do not force me to make assumptions or require me to label you then I can care less how you decide to represent yourself just don't try to label me either and we can all get along fine. I'm sorry you are around so many closed minded people. If you ever need someone nonjudgemental to talk with just email me and I will be glad to call you who you should be called -friend human.

A lot of people do it to some extent. The cutting emo is the stereotypical type. I hate labels too, they're so degrading. But then again, if you're called a nerd, you can take pride in that because you can do stuff others can't.

Welcome to the world. Labelling is the bread and butter of racists, xenophobes, homophobes, and misogynists. Good for you for recognizing the harm of labels.

Do you ever catch yourself making generalizations about people based on their color ("blacks," "whites," "orientals"), religion ("Jews," "Muslims"), national origin ("Arabs," "Mexicans") gender ("bitches" "ho's") or sexual orientation ("fags" "lesbos")? Now that you're aware of the bad feelings labels cause, you can avoid doing it yourself and make an effort to get others to stop doing so, too.
