it's probably because the smoke is irritating your lungs and that is causing the pain you feel in your back. You know that smoking is bad for you. Your body seems to be telling you that as well.

It may not be related to the smoking...coincidence perhaps? Maybe you just have back pain when you wake up due to the way you sleep or from your mattress. I would tend to think that way if that's the only time it happens. But, if you start having back pain everytime you smoke, it may be due to a lack of oxygenated blood getting to your muscles.

Heres a thought, don't smoke in the morning and see if your back still hurts. You might just be sleeping wrong.

my first guess would be that you smoke every morning and your back hurts every morning. if that isn't it i don't have enougn info
