I am almost positive it is a fuse in this case.
Check all of the outlets for foreign objects first (paperclips, pennies, safety pins). If you have kids, you may want to get caps for the outlets to keep foreign objects out.
Now replace the fuse and you should be ready to go.

Just a note about one of the answers. It is not wise to replace a fuse with one of higher value. The wiring in the vehicle is fused according to the size of the wire and the safe amount of amperage that wire can carry. Should you need a stronger outlet, you will need to have one installed, wired, and fused independently of the others. I can assure you that replacing a fuse with a larger one is not a standard practice of GM mechanics, and in some cases will void warranties and or insurance policies.

Sounds like a fuse blew. Check all the fuses in the dash and under the hood. Before replacing the fuse, have a look at all of the recepticles and the lighter element to see if there is anything in there that will cause the fuse to blow. Fix if nec, and replace the fuse. Some of the probes we all use and install into these sockets cause the fuse to blow. I always used to step the fuse up with a 5A jump. EG - if a 15A fuse blew, I would replace with a 20A.
