I cant decide what to do with my bright colored room. I am young and love the bright colors but i think i might have to tone it down a bit? I was thinking doing the wall behind my bed a "sage" color? what ideas do you guys have?? The carpet is grey and id prefer to stay away from grey b/c the rest of the house is that color.

heres a picture...

You should do the walls a nice off-white and then do the wall behind your bed the same color as that RED heart cushion...as an accent wall. That red is fine with pink, purple and grey !

I love that green! I am not even convinced you have to paint anything; just change other things. If you think you want or have to paint, I'd suggest the wall behine the bed. In an Accent color which I'll get into below or do vertical stripes in a darker shade (not too dark) on the wall behind your bed to add something different and then get say matching drapery in that darker color and use that sparingly around the room.

Okay, I'm not sure how it would go with the carpet, because sometimes it's hard to tell in pics. But, what about a deep brown as an accent color? (provided it's a shade with a more muddy gray undertone) And then you could even throw in a third color to add some punch like, pink, yellow, lavender, blue, or black (this will go with your carpet maybe?).

ditch the bed spread and the big lavender/pink stuff going on in your room, looks too juvenile. (You don't even have to paint) Grab a chocolate bed set. And you definitely need to purchase a larger area rug and set the lower 1/2 or 1/3 of your bed on it to tie in your new colors. Keep your picture. Either keep the blue papasan if blue is going to be your punch of third color or ditch it and get a chocolate or black cover.

Yes, sage is a good idea. You certainly would need to do something to break up a huge green area.

Perhaps you can even add dark green- But not on a whole wall. Rather as an accent color to a wall.

Incidentally, some purples and pinks do work well together. So see what you like.

Have fun!

I love it! Add a pink with it. Leave the walls green. Hang pictures on the wall in white frames to soften the green. You could paint white or pink stripes or polka dots....but getting new window treatments in a cute pink pattern would look great. maybe a new comforter....I think it will look great!
