Tourism is great for any country at any pace. Beauty of tourism that it brings huge revenue for the very little use of the infrastructures such as social programs, healthcare, resdiential housing, etc. It is also bring money to the local economy from the other places where original wealth is created. It is also allow local low tech inductries to get higher profits for the food and services, which would not be sold or produced otherwise. Tourism stimulates construction, road building etc. It is also generates funding to protect the environment and clean up some otherwise abandoned land. It helped to create some marine sanctuaries in Cozumel Mexico and other places. Tourism is excellent for any country at any rate.

Not necessarily. It can bring in tourist dollars, and give the citizens of the country a way to earn an income. Those tourists will go home with (hopefully) happy memories of the place they visited, as well as souvenirs and information about the local culture.

It can be a problem, however, if it's not controlled or managed. When North Somewherizstan starts looking like North Baltimore, I think that they've lost part of their identity. But that doesn't need to happen.

I think it's good and bad.

It's good for the local people. It brings money into an economy. It creates jobs.

But on the bad side, it can have a negative impact on the environment. More people in one place means more roads, hotels, parks, attractions, garbage and pollution all of which intail destroying the environment.
