I was just wondering if things such as electronic products bought in the United States would work there or do I need an adapter?

You'll need an adapter for the plugs - continental Europe uses two small prongs. These are available all over - or do a websearch. There are some on Amazon and RickSteves.com sells one for about 3$.

As for your appliances, like someone said, check on the back of them. There should be a notation of "120v" (this is the voltage accepted in America) In Italy you need 220v - if your appliance will work with out a converter, it will say "120v - 220v"

Most appliances if not all, that are made specifically for travel will work at 220v. Some older appliances (like my battery charger) will only work at 120v and may need to be replaced - converters can be pricey.

yes and yes. many of the products that you buy in the states will work on any current. Just look at the power adapter on the end of your power cord and the fine print will let you know. At the same time if there is no power adapter on the cord you will probably need and adapter.
Things that will work.
Cell Phone, computer, most Ipods and music machines.

Things that won't work,
Hair curlers, hair straighteners, blow dryers

You get the picture. Run down to your local luggage store or even Wallmart. They have plug and adapter kits, good luck
