Are you kidding?

The legislature in California has already gone through all the text books to take out 'mankind' and the English universal 'he'. And Teddy Roosevelt (really denuded the Yosemite Park exhibits, but after all he was a hunter and we can't hold that up as a role model, now can we?).

The battle isn't worth fighting for 'Homeland'. Now, Teddy Roosevelt, I'll fight for.

"Fatherland" and "Motherland" reminds people of Nazi Germany and communist Soviet Union.

"Homeland" is more technically correct, and doesn't bring up images that the government doesn't want to be associated with.
