An autoclave is steam under pressure - boiling will not kill off the very resistant endospores that bacteria and viruses have as a means of self-preservation. Even though you are only "using it on yourself" you don't know where the nonsterile items have been.

Please go to a professional piercer - preferably a member of APP. Your health is nothing to take shortcuts with.

Go to a professional! Piercings only cost $20-40 so it's not too expensive to be certain everything is sterile.

okay well this may sound stupid
but if you want to get a good sterile needle that is exactly the same as what they use in tattoo parlours:
go to the hospital, and try to find one of the karts with the sterile needles on it.

lmao, me and my friends did that
and they are hollow needles, which is what you need for piercings so you body wont reject the piercing.

I wouldnt try piercing yourself!!

Boiling does get rid of most germs, but id also buy an antiseptic or steriliser from your local chemist.
Soak them in TCP or Dettol, but use steriliser and boiling water aswell just in case.

While boiling does get ride of most germs, you may also want to soak it in peroxide or some sterille cleaner...you can get it at a beauty store like sallys. it is usually blue or purple!

Yeah as long as you are only using them on yourself and as long as they haven't been used before by anyone else they should be okay. Maybe even buying something from the store to make sure it is sterilized really well.

Its always been fine for me. If you've DIY pierced before and its been fine then really just do it the same way you did before! XD
