I am 27 weeks pregnant and AD Air Force. Our base is small however and we dont have a hospital so we have to go to our neighboring Army base to give birth. They just built a brand new hospital and the birthing rooms are really nice now. You stay in the same room to give birth and afterwards and you dont have any roomates or have to share the room with anyone. In the old hospital that they replaced you didnt give birth in the same room you stayed in, and you had to share a room with 3 other people. Call the hospital you will be giving birth at, and ask for a tour of the facility.

Usually the same as any hospital. If your expecting, ask for a tour of the facility. Since the Army Nurses Corps practice holistic services and offer midwives. You can deliver anyway a civilian does.

Most larger bases do but some of the smaller ones will send you to a nearby hospital. The rooms are like any other hospital.

some do. Not all of them have birthing rooms however. best bet is to contact the base hospital you would be delivering in and ask.

yes they do, matter of fact the military post by me is due to deliver 200+ babies before the thanksgiving. I haven't personally seen the birthing room but I hear they are not that bad. But every post is different.

Yes, they do. But don't expect the soft lighting, comfy sofa's and chairs, a more homey environment like say . . . Kaiser or your local community hospital. Look for olive-drab painted walls and all the necessary ameneties, and not much more. You'll be in-n-out and home in no time! . . . at least, that's the hope with a healthy baby going home with you. Besides, you'll be more comfortable at home than in a Military hospital.

Yes they do, however, when I was due with my first, our base hospital only had one OB/GYN who was on vacation so I had to go to the nearest civilian hospital.
