I'm dating a man from England whom I met in Australia. We've been doing the long distance thing for about a year now and have lasted this long with complete trust and appreciation for each other. I was wondering, do long distance relationships have a tendency to go south even after being together for a year or more? Or do they tend to fall apart earlier in the relationship?

Well, my husband and I met online. Him in USA and me in South Africa. After a year of chatting, met in person and then 3 weeks later got married and now we're expecting our first baby. If my story doesnt prove that there are happy endings to long distance love then I dunno what will. it just takes hard work and loyalty from both people.

I've been in a long distance relationship for over 6 years and still in love very much with each other. He's graduation this month from college and wants to move to where i live so we can get married.

Long distance relationship rarely work out, not that it never work out.

My boyfriend and I live in different countries and see eachother every other weekend plus long holidays. We've been together nearly 3 years and it works just fine. We are not planning to change the current set up, partly for work/practical reasons and partly because it's great as it is.

Long distance relationships tend to last forever so long as they are long distance. you can talk yourself into thinking there's love there and compatibility, even if there is not.

They fall apart when you are finally together in person.

totally depends on how you both handle it, and how really in love you are with each other.

Romeo and Juliet could not be separated, even by death. What is distance?
